Antrim / Re: Antrim Hurling
February 26, 2024, 11:38:14 AM
Quote from: marty34 on February 25, 2024, 11:25:16 PMI'm just asking if Galway were very good in the tackle or fouled away out the field?

I find it strange that Antrim only scored 1pt from a free in 70 plus minutes of hurling on a tight pitch.

That stat stood straight out at me reading the report.

Judging by that score-line, it doesn't seem Antrim had the ball  long enough to be fouled.

Injuries forcing Utd back to the same squad they had from the start of the season and we know how that went. Surely there's a young striker in the u-21s who could have got a run out yesterday to try and keep abit of shape to the team?

Quote from: J70 on February 25, 2024, 02:03:28 PMNunez, Salah and Szobozlai not even in squad. Really weak bench. This is on the starters.
Chelsea must be slight favorites when you see the Liverpool squad. Not much on that bench for them to come on and change things. Liverpool won't want extra time that's for sure.

Chelsea are never favourites for anything anymore.

Tell ye what. If it does get built after all this hullabaloo and lies empty all ready round? Suppose this puts serious pressure on those who own it to use it and not just for the Wolftones from the grave farewell tour 2035.

Agree but still could have been better. Series one was captivating. Had it all. 2 still a head scratcher at how bad it was, considering the budget and cast. Waiting to see 4.

If we are excluding BOB as it's a mini series then I have to say Gomorrah is my favourite!

Jim your out!

General discussion / Re: New Car Advice
February 13, 2024, 10:46:47 AM
Quote from: Karl Kennedy on February 12, 2024, 09:13:52 PMCurrently in the process of changing car and trying to source the best 7 seater SUV. From reading reviews the cars that seem best in performances and reliability are Hyundai Santa Fe, SKODA Kodiaq, KIA Sorento, Volvo XC90.

Would definitely be trying to buy a used car at reasonable money. Price of cars obviously increased post COVID so wondering is it best to maybe buy in England instead of Ireland.

Anyone any advice on 7 seater cars that they may already have especially the pros and cons.

Been looking at these models myself recently. If I could afford it I'd obviously go with the xc90. Beautiful Motor and never a recorded fatality as far as I'm aware. Had an older model before but cost a few Bob to run. Newer models better fuel efficiency. The Kia and Hyundai have had face lifts in21/22 so are very pricey in the used market. Although have heard great reviews on both. Kodaq q probably cheapest option with decent reviews too. Top of the range ones a decently kitted out. The prices up North are crazy. I bought a year old kuga in 2018 for 18k. Now a year old Kuga is 23k

Quote from: screenexile on January 24, 2024, 09:20:40 PMHere lads... ye only thought Saltburn was mental.

Wait until you watch Poor Things. It's completely batshit from start to finish. Weird and disgusting and funny well acted and completely bananas.

I still haven't decided if it's good or bad yet but I'm leaning towards good. I laughed more in shock than humour.

It's worth a look but not for the faint of heart plenty of gore and riding and nudity!

I'm interested to hear anyone else's take on it.

Emma Stone is a shoo in for the Oscar after it.

I'm in!

A good few mickeys on show as well!!

Her indoors will be happy then lol

Quote from: AustinPowers on January 24, 2024, 06:27:26 PMSo Jeffrey was  threatened , by  an unnamed person(s).  Very convenient  ::)

So now he's  reduced the heat on himself and Colm  Eastwood even coming  out in support of him.

He should have  turned on the tears as well. That   would have  put the tin hat on it

Threatened by an unknown person who, when he checked hadn't voted!
How can he check if someone voted? I thought that was anonymous?
Can't be an unknown person if he knows them!

Whole thing is a deflection....ironic give  he said he wouldn't be deflected.

No sympathy for him, I don't condone threats, I mean the situation he and the dup are in. Its self made and we are all suffering for their party politics.
Jeff did not say they were unknown people, it's possible he could have checked earlier online comments made. Wasn't it Donaldson who threatened Trimble back in the day?
I see he was spoofing about all the alterations to the protocol that he alone was able to negotiate.

My bad, I misread unnamed as unknown.
I still don't understand how he can check if someone voted.

He's full of it. Don't believe a word he says to be honest and I'm surprised so many have been taken in by the performance.
I was never a huge fan of SDLPs Eastwood, but he seriously went down in my estimations yesterday with how he responded. He's right to condemn threats of course, but good god.

You get checked off if you vote. Register can be viewed, just not who you voted for.
