I would assume Dunloy, Moneyglass and Sarsfields management will all be staying on after successful seasons?
Is Pete McGrath still in charge at Aghagallon?

Aghagallon have posted that Kevin McKernan and Dessie Marshall are their new managers.
Apparently Gavin Devlin looking Murty O Brien in along side him with Magherafelt with his management team, also wee Gerard Mc was telling me that Creggan had asked him so I'd assume Cassidy isn't in with kickhams,is this K Mc Kernan who played for Down, any experience in management

Appears to be him G&T, he was taking Dundalk Gaels for 2 years and did rightly.

McKernan is going out with a sister of the Lenahan's that play for them.

So that likely had a factor in him taking them.

IS Big Russ Back in LD?

Just read the SG article previewing this years minor championship final. Sure to be a cracker was at the St Pauls Creggan Game last weekend and St Paul plenty of size for a minor side mixed with some cracker forwards.

BS seen Owen Doherty over the minors - he has put astronomical  work in over the years with Casements underage and seems to be getting the rewards now.

Fair play is right. Players make mistakes and its not over analyzed but its different for a ref.

Completely behind you if its a foul anywhere else on the pitch its a foul in the penalty area, some refs would pull out of this.

As for cargin i wouldn't be retiring them just yet, they have youth coming through which the great St Galls team didn't have... They will be at the top table for years to come yet.

Cragins Two penalties were fouls. However they were fouls outside of the penalty area - never penos!!

Cargin will regroup and go again. Dunloy could win a few if things pan out...

Would also love to see a possibility of Molloy, elliots and co playing both football and hurling for the county... Could it ever work ?

Seen a few Dunloy men going off with knocks who also play football, Declan Smith and Owen Oneill - would be two big losses to the footballers.

St Johns approach of going all in the hurling has worked for them

Quote from: NorthAntrimSaff on October 02, 2025, 03:30:23 PMIs flatness the managers fault or the players? Seems to be a big turnover of players for them? Was it 2 forwards remained from the previous year i think was mentioned on the commentary

Maybe thats what caused his departure? Not enough Downeys from previous years playing and more st bridgets lads

Also nothing to do with the chairman - was a players vote. The meeting was called by Shea downey.

On the topic of management - St Bridgets have released clubman Ruari Oneill of his duties. Players meeting at the weekend and the vote went against him. Heard Shea downey had a huge say.

A year isnt a lot of time however they did look flat in their single knock out game against dunloy.

Quite surprised to see Senior championship starters...starting a reserve final

Seems to be Only 2 players for Portglenone who started their last Senior championship game and 2 featured for Cargin who also played their last senior championship game...

In previous years i have seen a lot more crossing over especially from City clubs but maybe due to a lack of numbers?

But can we get back to talking about Lavey sorry St Brigids

Ryan has been in Dunloy since he was 14 when he played hurling only. When he left minor he decided himself to stay at the club.

Aodhan came to play hurling at underage, like his younger brother James, as Ballymena didn't offer it to them at the time. They had a fall out with their own club and it ended up in them deciding to make a permanent transfer.

I dont remember when James started to play for us. Hes been there forever it seems. He lives in Dunloy as well i think?

I dont see these lads as blow ins

Conor Kinsella& Deaglan Smith have been in Dunloy since they were kids when their families moved from Belfast, that isnt seen as being a blow in

No fall out and Aodhan didnt play a minute of underage for Dunloy
Rasharkin and Dunloy are next door neighbours. Id say half of Rasharkins members have a Dunloy postcode. He moved in 2022 or 2023..hardly forever?

Moving from Belfast to Dunloy is a different matter, similar to these "professionals" moving into south belfast and joining the local club??

Are Bredagh and Carryduff the most hated clubs in Co Down out of curiosity?

Not evidently as much as St Brigids are in Antrim..

St Brigids weren't always unlikeable. I never had many issues with them growing up and loved playing them at the rugby ground! Some feed put on after the games  ;D  But the past number of years they are an unlikeable crowd! Was delighted to see Dunloy beat them. They've some fantastic underage players coming through so it will be interesting to see if they make it to senior with all the blow ins they have.

As for us this year and the soap opera around the management! The less said the better! Couldn't wait for the season to end.

whatever happens with the management teams and fall outs you would like to hope the players still had a bit of pride for their own clubs... didnt see any of that on friday night

All wont be beat , now that's 2 tasty semi finals coming up. Open draw for semis?

St. Galls to beat Portglenone

That would not be a shock. PG1 are favs but I'm not sure if they are progressing from where they were.

Expand... why ?..

Galls have gone deep into the transfer market to strengthen as they have done in years previous taking key players from us promising them senior football until they get better recruits in. was at the game yesterday they played ok  however heavily reliant on two 40 year olds still.
