He will be familiar with Cathal Murray then (new St Brigids manager) who had a fair bit of success with Ardee.

Cant see Dunloy letting OBrien go anywhere, but it will definitely take dollars to keep him.

Poor promotion! Get used to it.

Apparently Sean Kelly is NOT standing for election as county PRO. For some reason he has had a rethink.....

Will be a huge loss imo - man took promoting all things Saffron to a different level during his previous tenure.

I think anyone who would have the audacity to challenge this opinion would find themselves heavily outweighed.

Very highly rated coach. Dunloy were singing his praises from months back, some hefty gambles landed from 7/1.

Casements have appointed Mattie McGleenan as incoming manager for 2026.

Antrim, no offence but your post comes across as very condescending to a man who has devoted thousands of hours volunteering for Antrim Gaa, obtain county PRO of the year and developed live streaming and brought social media to a different level.

And why try to draw comparison between that role and another massively significant role of games coaching officer, when all posts are very necessary.

Then you introduced clubs to the mix. We all know thats the most important of all - thats where the players come from!

But cant understand your motive in deriding PR as if its worthless and holds no value. I know if I was SK reading this I would be grossly offended!

Hearing that Sean Kelly may allow his name to go forward for PRO again - if so that would be some appointment.

Also I can confirm Donal Murphy is going to contest Central delegate position, and imo if succesful woukd be a superb ambassador for us in the corridors of power in HQ.

But to me the coaching and games development role is massive. We need that position covered by someone who has a vision of taking juvenile development to the next level.

See the county has just issued notification of nominations for County Executive and associated positions. Now is the time for anyone to put your hand up if you fancy having a crack at PRO as I see Dan is stepping down.

Most significantly we require a Coaching and Games development officer to replace outgoing Paddy Kelly who has run his five year course.

Be great if we could get these two important positions filled with the right candidate

Get proactive folks, these are important positions that need filled.

Thanks Duine. That would be my understanding and hope.

We could end up with something not too shabby for that, An Athletic Grounds or posdibly better??

Not in construction so open to correction from those who know more about these things...

Correct me where I am wrong.

The original £67m from NI govt was for an upgrade for Casement Park, larger than Windsor Pk and Ravenhill upgrade received.

Thats still ringfenced - for Casement Park redevelopment.

So worst case scenario, Ulster Council (lead partner on the project) take whole thing back to the drawing board and tidy up/rebuild Casement Pk for whatever you get for £67m.

Croke Park would probably make a contribution and with right representation you would expect Irish Govt to chip in too.

Maybe £80/£90M combined to go back to drawing board as WORST CASE scenario.

Yes/No....or does anybody actually know!

Amongst the doom and the gloom of seeing Project Casement (as it stand) fade deeper into fantasy land, I wonder what the scenarios start to look like?

Best Case - It gets built.

Medium Case - see what finance is still ringfenced and available and touch up all other possible funders/build something smaller within new budget that would at least deliver something modern and north of Casement Park as it used to be.

What does worst case look like? Can all parties (including Ulster councils committment to Antrim board)  just walk away...

Or put it another way...how much is still ringfenced for the project and if necessary can it be transferred to smaller/amended project(s)?

Eamon McCann also involved. Very highly rated by players, managed Cargin for a few years. Knows his stuff. Talking to one seasoned panellist, so far likes what he sees and hears about the set up. We get behind the team and management from the start. New slate, new opportunity.

And to top off it all off...yesterday Casements hosted the annual Paul McKeever under 11.5 tournament. Big clubs from all over the province were amongst the 22 clubs taking part. And the winners, defeating Coalisland after extra time in the final, were....

Thanks DK.

Hopefully a phone call to Peter will he high on Mark Dorans agenda...proper baller!

To top off a memorable weekend Portglenone girls beat Loughgiel.

At least three households will have sisters with camogie and ladies football medals and brothers with football at grade A under 16 and minor!

Definitely a first I'd say!
