Don't believe everything you read on the internet.

Quote from: Caesar on September 23, 2024, 10:05:29 AMAny truth to the rumour that LD were playing the big soccer player under a teammates name on the team sheet? To stay under the radar from his soccer club. If true, that opens a whole new can of worms.

Ok Caesar

Big game coming up on Sunday, Clare will provide a proper opening test!

On another note I believe Ulster Council are angling to deprive us of our right to home venue when we host Armagh in Corrigan Park in the Ulster Championship.

Surely they can't be serious?? Antrim officials need to be strong and stamp out any such notion before this gathers pace.

With a new manager bounce for Clare, Antrim will need to come out of the blocks  firing. Hoping the new rules have forced a rethink to a speedier transition from front to back from what was fairly laboured at times previously. With rules no clue how it can go.

Need to tell Armagh they'll be togging out   at Corrigan come hell or high water. No negotiation.

I'd say UC want to get as much cash in as possible now...after losing out on the Mc Kenna Cup.

SaffronSports

Is there a rule that says grounds must be so big in Ulster Championship? If not, tough.

Whats the full story behind this BS?  surely it cant just be about attendances?    and if it goes ahead are we to concede home advantage to Armagh, and the foreseeable future championship games?

Spike

And it is a bit rich to be penalised by the Ulster Council for attendances following the debacle of Casement Park

It looks like a done deal and Antrim officials look like they've signed off on this!

Truly shocked by this, did anyone consult with AME or players, never mind supporters...

I now doubt if the game will be played at all.

A bit of faux outrage there BS, the ground we currently reside in is not up to standard (Antrim are majorly at fault for this). I would love it to be in Corrigan as well but lets be realistic what difference is it going to make to the result?, may as well go and play it in a decent stadium.

yeah, as much as we want home advantage Corrigan is not the standard to host a USFC game

You're very not looking at this from an Antrim management or player perspective. Neither are those who signed off on it, unless they know something I don't.

How do Antrim benefit from this going to a neutral venue? Tell me that.

Unless you're from the  "it won't matter where its played we will get stuffed anyway" brigade, and if that's the case, then why turn up at all!

It's a matter of principle, simple as!

Spike

whether it is played in front of 3000 or 300 people it should still be Antrim's call on where it is to be played.

From a sporting perspective I can see your point. But why would AMcE have a say in it? Corrigan is a good ground that we are all fond of and it serves a purpose but it is not up to the standard to host Ulster Championship games, I note you have not disagreed with this point.
I feel your anger would be better directed and Antrim officials who contributed to us being left in this position, some of whom still call most of the shots in the county as we speak.
