Don't think big Pat Shivers has enjoyed a start time in Saffron thus far....

Hasn't the work rate or athleticism for inter county football

Sadly that is the way Gaelic football is now, a fit player with little or no footballing ability will start ahead of a more talented player.
Pat looked fairly athletic and hardworking up against the mighty St Brigids last Sunday night though and fair play to him for sticking it out with Antrim when hes getting no game time at all, got to be due some credit for that

He does. I was surprised he didn't get more game time in the league when Rory McCann was injured and even when McCann was coming back and wasn't fit. Glad to see Shivers stick at it and hopefully his time will come.

He's a young lad who starred at college and under age level and maybe the expectation was he would go into Antrim seniors and start shooting the lights out.

It didn't work out that way but I'll tell you what, fair play he stuck it out two full years and didn't ever spit the dummy. He's a class big lad who is a real handful at club level and maybe under a different manager Big Pat would have got a lot more game time. Thats not a reflection on Andy, just different people see different things. And certainly would have got a lot more game time the way the game used to be played!

And a player who gives his all for the county dosent deserve an ounce  of criticism from people on here whom there is a very strong chance either couldn't lace his boots or say it to his face.

100%. He walked away and went back in a few times? Has stuck it out now with little reward. Would like to see it click for him

I hope for all our sakes he proves us all wrong.

Heartening to see him stick at it.

If he got his pace, power, movement and athleticism improved (through sheer hard work) then with his natural ability he could be David Clifford-esque.

He's absolutely quality but has to get on the ball to count at the top level.

Not starting for Antrim in Divion 3...but could be like David Clifford. I've heard it all now lol.

He's a good player to be fair, but every time I've seen him (even when he has good games) I've always walked away thinking 'he could have done a bit more'

Sorry, that was a typo. I was meaning wasn't directed at him. Ive heard a few ex county players talking recently saying talent is now overlooked for athletes

What utter BS, I would have thought that those who played the game would know better.

At this level you need both the talent and the application/ athleticism.

Do they actually watch the games and see how hard Clifford works and he is the most naturally talented player of this generation. Hand and glove.
