Good podcast, public opinion swaying very much in Antrims favour on this matter.

The truth of the matter is Antrim players feel that our own county board need to be stronger on the principle that 4K will hold whoever gets in, and thats life. There will be a lot of disappointed Armagh supporters but most of them will forsake their disappointment for seeing this as a matter of principle and pride for Antrim footballers. One day watching their excellent side on the TV won't be the end of the world, there's NFL div 1 matches that will hold a lot more interest for the average Armagh supporter.

Good podcast on the Corrigan or nowhere saga. Public opinion firmly with Antrim on this. Need our county officials to be strong and back their own players to the hilt.

I'm sure Armaghtothebone most of you will be open to the idea that there is a matter of principle here, and that Antrim shouldn't need to concede home venue as a result of miscommunication by Ulster GAA officialdom.

Give me one single reason Antrim management or players would even contemplate playing this game if its not at Corrigan?

Good article by Cahir OKane in yesterday's Irish News. Well worth a read.

Time for Antrims delegated officials to stand up for their players, their management, and their county.

This is where you got your mandate from!

Can someone tell me why Antrim would want to concede home advantage where they might keep the score down to a respectable level in context of Div 3 team playing All Ireland Champions, never mind facing into it like an away match in front of 15k plus Armagh supporters.

Would be like turkeys voting for Christmas!

Ulster Council need to suck it up because they took eye off the ball and forgot to put that stipulation in place before the draw, and genuine Armagh supporters need to put hand up and say its only fair it's played at Corrigan....and let them watch it on TV for the day if they arnt one of 1780 Armagh season ticket holders (48% of their total)
lucky enough to draw one in an internal Armagh raffle.

Johnny McBride must be in the conversation too! Fergal Doherty carried Derry for a long time, probably first name on the managers teamsheet.

Quote from: Duine Inteacht Eile on February 01, 2025, 07:31:24 PMYeah, sure the rest of them aren't from Antrim.

What are you on Duine? Ease up on the cheap shots!

PG1 are not holding any player back from linking up with the county. And for what it's worth I don't believe Cargin are either.

Paddy McAleer retired himself from the inter county scene, great baller. Conchuir on injury list again! Peter out for most of the year with a broken foot sustained in Tailteean Cup semi, and Hynds Bros, one on panel, one injured, one working Dublin and can't commit.

True ITG. Every point is precious. We've seen many Antrim teams losing games in a dogfight like that. A blocked tackle from Eunan Walsh late in the game when Clare had a goal on was typical of the Saffron spirit on show today. Superb start to the year, Ederney Sunday be another test.

Game over 6 hours ago, not a comment. Strange that, methinks had we lost...the thread would be hiving!

Do you think Davy Fitz would accept this if Antrim Hurlers were drawn at home in a qualifier to a big name county? Dwell on that for a minute. I sincerely doubt it.

Hands up I don't have access to all the info? Did the Antrim officials who gave consent put it to club delegates at County Committee? That's an important question or has a couple of people gone on a solo run?

Was Antrim Football team management even consulted. If it was hurling do you think Davy Fitz would have been consulted?

Did they secure anything in return, a donation from the enhanced Gate Receipts, or something we don't know, that might make the concession more palatable??

Shooting in the dark on this, but first impressions are we have rolled over far too easily on this and if it dosent sit easily with a supporter then how might players and management feel!

I doubt it's 5k Jim, probably half of that, and no matter how many they have, it shouldn't be Antrims problem.

As a supporter I'm not happy, and if you've managed teams you'll know you shouldn't be conceding anything come championship, never mind the feel good factor of playing at home venue.

I imagine that feeling of loss will be magnified many times if you were a player or management trying to be prepared to even be remotely competitive against the All Ireland Champions.

Has anyone even considered this?
