Score was 0 -12 Antrim to 2 -08 Offaly when we got both midfielders red carded, was only ever going to be one winner in that event. Not sure you can lay that at Andys feet?

Similarly, Armagh got to within two points in Ballybofey today when they had one player red carded, all ireland champions ended up going down by 8 pts.

Had we lost by that amount with a full complement there would be questions to answer, but under the circumstances, much less so.

But we do need a response on Saturday against Leitrim...that is an important fixture.

That seems to be by far the most popular sentiment.
#3
And have you factored in David the loss to the association if the game is not played at all?
#4
Agree Armaghniac under normal circumstances. But every so often there's a one off case that deserves to be considered on its merits.

In this particular case, that Antrims inability to host the numbers anticipated is due to handing over the keys of its main stadium on good faith to the competition organisers, and despite good intentions, over a decade later are not an inch further forward.

On this basis do you still feel that it's fair that Antrim are penalised??

Yes/No?

Genuine question Spiderlegs? After more than 15 posts on this subject, and quoting the rulebook verbatim, I offer the suggestion that you're more than a season ticket holder. I surmise you are of officialdom, to the extent you probably don't pay at all.

Possibly of the Ulster Council variety, (which dosent make you a bad person) just trying to assert what your motivation is in perpetuating the same debate.

Definitely a county official of some sorts...methinks!

As for myself, just a humble supporter who thinks that 4k would hold sufficient numbers in perfect safety, and when it's over, there will still be opportunities aplenty for Armagh supporters for days out, #fun in the sun.

Remember it well. Enda was in charge and we had a panel full of recognisable names but the performance didn't happen and yes it turned quickly into a very damp squib.

Regardless of the result then, or what happens against Armagh, a stance is a stance, its either right or wrong to make it, and Iin this instance I cant think of any county who would willingly give up home advantage to the All Ireland champions.

Some of the people opinioning on this have never managed a team into a championship. You don't concede ground, or anything, if you can help it.

Trying to work out your thinking EOC...does it have to be one or the other. surely both are completely separate things.

Hearing that the Ulster Council hearing planned for last night was postponed until next week due to an unforeseen circumstance.

Hopeful that all Antrim county officers involved, having had ample time to assess the mood in the county will do their duty, which reflects their mandate....and nominate nowhere else but Corrigan Park as the venue for our home championship tie against Armagh.

Antrim must be united on this, footballers, hurlers, supporters and administrators.

Some people here are under the assumption Antrim will only use a couple of hundred tickets as they have no support. If so, then do the Maths. Is there really likely to be many Armagh season ticket holders missing out?

David McKeowns fear of £.5m possible litigation has just suddenly vanished into thin air!

The season ticket fiasco is a smokescreen for the bigger picture of provincial council cashflow. Then for Ulster Council to wheel out the H&S line just added fuel to the fire.

Come out and say what the real reason is, and make the case on purely financial grounds, and imo Ulster Council would have more support on the issue. But expecting Antrim to roll over on a load of BS....really!

Condescending nonsense Wobbler. "Played for Antrim, never heard of him". Away on with you.

No conflict in the panel whatsoever is what's coming across loud and clear. Corrigan or nowhere, no matter what the consequences. Not one player will say anything otherwise so you can nip that in the bud right away.

Antrim players didn't create this problem and they arnt going to get pushed around on it either.

Yes he hurls for Slaughtneil and football for Roger Casements.

Ulster Championship and Tailteean Cup are two different competitions, legislated by different bodies!

Scaremongering at its finest...

Ulster Council citing Health & Safety as a smokescreen for changing the game. Why not just come out and say they badly need the revenue and at least everyone will understand their real motive. (Which most business people will relate to).

The reality is Armagh will get two thousand tickets approximately for their own usage on the day at Corrigan. Same as Antrim.

Game goes on. Principle upheld. Armagh supporters missing out will still waken up on the Monday morning afterwards, most likely still as favourites for Ulster and bigger days out ahead of them.

Let's call this out for what it is and stop insulting peoples intelligence.

Special shout out to Odhran Doherty from Casements (son of Owen) who won a McRory Cup medal playing in midfield. He's the guy who hit 11 points against St Brigids in county under 16 final last year.

Owen played at Maghera back in the day, and his wife Claire also attended as far as I know. Claire went on to captain Slaughtneil camogs and as far as I recall won Ulster Camogie player of the year.

Proud day for them all, and a very bright future in Saffron awaits young Odhran.

You're entitled to your opinion Red Hand. I have a vested interest in this as a lifetime Antrim supporter, but can't understand your motivation in this as a Tyrone man, and methinks thou doth protest a little too much, unless of course you are connected to Ulster Council....

Listen, I'm hearing loud and clear that not one Antrim footballer will be playing the game if its not in Corrigan, despite any sanctions that may arise. Right now they feel they are being royally shafted not only by Ulster, but by their own county officials who need to adopt a much firmer stance on their behalf.
