Do you think Davy Fitz would accept this if Antrim Hurlers were drawn at home in a qualifier to a big name county? Dwell on that for a minute. I sincerely doubt it.

Hands up I don't have access to all the info? Did the Antrim officials who gave consent put it to club delegates at County Committee? That's an important question or has a couple of people gone on a solo run?

Was Antrim Football team management even consulted. If it was hurling do you think Davy Fitz would have been consulted?

Did they secure anything in return, a donation from the enhanced Gate Receipts, or something we don't know, that might make the concession more palatable??

Shooting in the dark on this, but first impressions are we have rolled over far too easily on this and if it dosent sit easily with a supporter then how might players and management feel!

I doubt it's 5k Jim, probably half of that, and no matter how many they have, it shouldn't be Antrims problem.

As a supporter I'm not happy, and if you've managed teams you'll know you shouldn't be conceding anything come championship, never mind the feel good factor of playing at home venue.

I imagine that feeling of loss will be magnified many times if you were a player or management trying to be prepared to even be remotely competitive against the All Ireland Champions.

Has anyone even considered this?

You're very not looking at this from an Antrim management or player perspective. Neither are those who signed off on it, unless they know something I don't.

How do Antrim benefit from this going to a neutral venue? Tell me that.

Unless you're from the  "it won't matter where its played we will get stuffed anyway" brigade, and if that's the case, then why turn up at all!

It's a matter of principle, simple as!

It looks like a done deal and Antrim officials look like they've signed off on this!

Truly shocked by this, did anyone consult with AME or players, never mind supporters...

I now doubt if the game will be played at all.

Result was all that matters. Be some party in Birmingham next Wednesday!

Big game coming up on Sunday, Clare will provide a proper opening test!

On another note I believe Ulster Council are angling to deprive us of our right to home venue when we host Armagh in Corrigan Park in the Ulster Championship.

Surely they can't be serious?? Antrim officials need to be strong and stamp out any such notion before this gathers pace.

Tbf, Joe has been a consistently vocal opponent of the genocide in Palestine from a long way back. I don't always agree with him, but on this issue he has been exceptional.

Very sad news indeed. All happened very quickly. May he rest in peace.

We didn't do anywhere near enough to deserve 3 points. A point away will do. Might need another point from two games left...but would have settled for this position a few months ago. All still to play for and in our own hands.

Why would you get rid of the gaelfast competitions? Surely any and all activity is to be encouraged?

I'd say Philip Lynott or Rory Gallagher would share that particular honour.

Nothing wrong with a point here tonight if that's the way it ends up.
