GAA Discussion / Re: Ulster Club SFC 2024

Red card all day long and lost his team the game. Kilcoo could be a very good footballing team without resorting to the shit they do.

Eugene brannigan maybe as good as on the pitch any Kilcoo very good defensively closing down the Canavans so well.

Two well matched teams.

Two teams very bad at goading. Match will be littered with it I suspect...

I do think that rates in Belfast are ridiculous and the city council are taking the piss too which doesn't help.

Like wobbler says people pay it. It's like hotels in Dublin - I don't know how anyone stays there at that cost.

Quote from: Rossfan on December 05, 2024, 11:43:53 PMTubberman and Armaghniac with the 2 most sensible posts tonight.

Tubberman's entire argument is based around the idea than a large amount of natioanlists don't want a united Ireland and don't want a boder poll. Two completely fabricated claims which are both blown out of the water by the polling data. So how does that mean he's talking sense, Rossfan?

A lot of northern nationalists want a united Ireland in the same way I want to lose weight or Kildare want to win an All Ireland, i.e. they want it but are not willing to put in a bit of effort to get it.
A border poll without that effort will not work.

What should the average everyday person do?

Antrim / Re: Antrim Football Thread

Clare not easy either though hopefully winnable. Leitrim match isn't going to be much of a spectacle with Poacher in charge of them.

Belfast is getting prohibitively dear to drink in. £6 is near enough cheap for a pint in the city centre. Seems to range from £6 to £6.60. I was away in Portugal the other week and 2 pints was costing me the same as 1 in belfast (ok 500 ml but not that big a difference).

You mean the two posts that line up with your view?

Armaghniac i was involved in a conversation a few years ago and the general consensus in the conversation is that SF are not the nationalist party to deliver a united ireland. The problem is at the minute they are the only ones who have anywhere near any kind of clout to be doing it.

Northern nationalist does not mean a supporter of SF is something that a few people seem to have missed too.

Basically at the minute the politicians aren't there to deliver it (from the northern side). The ones on the southern side aren't going to drive it so the question is who really will.

I think it's the first time the final has been cancelled. The semi finals were cancelled a couple of times each I think.

Ah you're not an innocent party on the vilification front.

What do you expect people who lived through what they did up here to say about the likes of that kind of viewpoint from Martin?

Quote from: JoG2 on December 05, 2024, 03:21:04 PMHAWK coin became available yesterday (December 4), and it quickly rose to a peak market cap of $490 million...

What a world we live in, the amount of people worldwide in the gutter and a woman famous for a BJ sound releases something that doesn't exist (or does it?) and it's valued at nearly half a billion.

;D  ;D

When you put it like that!

Quote from: Brendan on December 04, 2024, 04:07:51 PMThe FAI publish a map in a Match programme with the 6 counties a different colour and Derry labeled "Londonderry", makes me wonder why I even aspire to a United Ireland, well always just be Brits to the Free Staters

I wouldn't judge us all based on FAI. Clearly some clown grabbed a map from Google. Earlier in the year, they had to apologise to Latvia after their effort to translate the names of the Latvian u21 players. This is a grab of the program.

Players include:

Robert the Liar
Bruno the Black
Dario shit
Gleb liked it

It's not just the FAI, it's RTE, it's Micheal Martin, it's our fellow gaels when they call us Brits at matches etc

The general election thread is also grim reading. You do wonder sometimes how many people down south give a shite about people up north  ::)  You would just hope it's representative of the minority and not the majority. I am not convinced those two, non SF, major parties are all that bothered.
