There is a thread for (Division 2 survivors, provincial semi-finalists and victors over Armagh) Meath so why not us?

Apparently we don't have the players so what do we need to do to compete with counties that do have the players like Clare, Longford, Sligo, Tipperary, Laois, Limerick, Fermanagh, Carlow, Offaly & Leitrim?

Have more clubs like Clann Eireann?

We have too many clubs but its true that it would be good if the clubs we had were more like Clann Eireann.

The are immediate, medium term and long term solutions to our problems. Underage coaching like Clann Eireann is part of the long terrm solution. But don't forget the other 2

I am saddened by the status of Clan na Gael. Its a shame they are an intermediate club these days.Far too many clubs in and around Lurgan.

I blame contraception.

No big families any more. Most club teams could've been picked from 3 or 4 households years ago.

Don't worry that's still the case

Hardly a coincidence that the slide to obscurity started once Hughie Morgan withdrew the once bottomless pit of money.

It's hardly surprising. That Armagh team were not particularly talented, they just took advantage of the fact that no other county used to train as professionally as they did. They were fitter and physically bigger than everyone else. Now that everyone else has caught up, Armagh are back where they belong.

Forget 2002 and comparisons with 2002.

Aiming high might sound obvious but in Armagh talk to '02 just presents unattainable goals and a reason to pack up ambition and what playing talent we have and piss it the defeatist drain

Which is the chicken and which is the egg here?
Morgan didn't exactly propel Louth into the big time.
