One way to stop the 7 in a row I suppose.

It'll make buying the christmas presents difficult without the traditional dublin all ireland victory memorabilia on sale

Think you should be banned from posting. Players up and down the country are out running or kicking about and more power to them!!  What real harm are they doing out in a big open space in the fresh air?
The real pandemic is the mental health crisis that arises from extreme restrictions for a virus with 99% survival rate imo!

The national response to Dublin's daunting run of unbeaten years is conflicted: admiration for their skill and athleticism and resentment at the perception that they have all the advantages. In the many debates on the subject, figures are trotted out to illustrate that Dublin has been given more funding than any other county. There is a real fear that no other county can live with Dublin as an entity; that the century old All-Ireland championship model is broken.

They could do with a break from it and we could do with a break from them winning all round them.

Duggan says "But this foolish moment will follow them and threatens to compromise what has been a legacy of untouchable supremacy."

Will it though?

Will anyone give a shit next month, never mind after they've won their seventh AI in a row and beyond that?

Chances are that there are more than just the Dubs out doing this anyway.

Out of all the questions about the Dubs and the long term health of the senior intercounty championship, this won't feature very highly.

It's about ignoring Covid guidelines at a time when people are still dying.
Phil Hogan lost his job because of something similarly stupid. Everything depends on the public reaction.

Ironically the one place Dublin has no advantage is trying to do a bit of clandestine training in the capital. It would be far easier get away with that in the arse end of nowhere.

No.

Covid spreads when people ignore the rules.
The Dubs ignored the rules.
So did Hogan.
Hogan lost his job.

Regardless if rules was ignored little or no deaths occur as of result of outdoor activities.

Next time post such news in the appropriate thread.

Down and cork got bans. It's the worst kept secret in the world that Derry were at it. There's three that I know of and I wouldn't be too much in the know.

Ultimately when Dublin broke the rules some of the standard bearers of Dublin felt they were letting themselves down. The discipline and leadership that was key from the likes of Cluxton and others was ignored and indeed scorned. When the standard bearers left there was a leadership gap and this was filled by indiscipline. The achievements of the greatest team that ever played the game from 2011 to 2020 was founded on different values and the class of 21 should not be equated with that group, not tarnished either.  Dublin in 2021 ended up a rabble.  The 2011 - 2020 teams will be remembered with fondness, and with no sign of Cluxton returning the era is over.
