No. He knew exactly what he had to the point of showing people with no clearance what he had. The nuclear stuff and Macron compromat were pointedly of serious value to Putin and Moscow

Absolutely not

It's a "politically motivated prosecution" and if Hillary had been held to the same standards she'd have been locked up and the key thrown away. It's just another political witch hunt to bring Trump down

He also brought up the millions of documents Obama took for his Presidential Library and asked if anyone went through those looking for classified documents, which is actually a fair question

I asked the guy I know with a high level of security clearance about this and he said that even if they did find classified documents in that trove, the fact that Obama went through the correct channels and checked all the boxes (no pun intended) with the National Archives it's a non issue even if some classified documents  slipped through the cracks

If Trump had returned the docs when the requests were made, none of this would be happening.

What's with the other candidates though? Yet another chance to stick the boot in and they're all terrified. They all secretly hope that THIS time will be the one, but they don't have the courage to stick their necks out. They hope the justice system will do the nasty work of beating Trump so they don't have to. Do you think Trump would be so reticent if it were DeSanctimonious who was stashing classified docs in the jacks? He'd be going to town on him! This is the man who campaigned on Ted Cruz having an ugly wife and an auld lad who was mixed up in the JFK asassination!

DeSantis probably secretly filled his migrant plane up with SF hipsters for the return journey to Florida recently and pulled strings to get them on that grand jury. :P

So basically he's indicted for being a total idiot, careless to the extreme with top secret documents, multi layers of lies on top of lies, blocking investigations which  in all probably were mandated  after many people squealed to the authorities about his criminal recklessness with state secrets. Now he repeatedly whines conspiracy, political witchhunt.
Meanwhile some of the republican brainiest have come up with the defence that because he could have declasified most of those documents when president, he should be given a free pass. ;D

As I said a couple of pages back, if he'd handed the documents back when he was asked, instead of trying to hide them and obstruct the authorities, none of this would be happening.

And the stupidest part is that he's not intent on selling anything - he just thinks that, security and laws be damned, he's entitled to keep them and show them off as trophies to whoever he wants.

All part of his needy, spoiled brat ego.

On a brighter note, the Supreme Court shut down the North Carolina attempt to sideline state courts from electoral oversight. Had they been successful, rogue state legislatures could have over-ridden the votes of their populace whenever they liked and there would be no recourse within that state's court system. Some of those "alternate" elector machinations Trump and Eastman and the rest were attempting in December 2020 and January 2021 might have been cleared to proceed in future.

One of the Fox contributors a week or so ago said that documents which impact on national security cannot be shared , even if a president declassified them. And that the legislation focuses on national security not classified/de-classified.

Yet another politically biased and foolish sop to the predominantly White economic elite, rationalized on the basis of a 200-year-old Constitution that tolerated slavery and did not afford women the right to vote... so-called "conservatism". Total nonsense. But then that is often the way with Law.

Not only is this SC ruling absurdly unjust, it has a tendency to perpetuate that same injustice. Rightfully is Clarence bearing the family name, Thomas.
