Some bunch of charlatans in Westminster.  They'll get rid of him after the May elections in Wales and Scotland. Couldn't be more obvious.

Momentum is an amazing thing.  Once it starts going against you it's a nightmare. Dungannon were incredible for 20 minutes, and then started to slow it down going into the break, which I think they'll regret. They had Abbey completely flummoxed, but just slowed it up a bit and gave them a sniff.

Jon Burrows issuing a public statement on it, as if anyone gives a fcuk.

Quote from: delgany on February 03, 2026, 08:30:47 PMAs an ordinary Joe Public , I do despair at the like of Ulster Hospitality calling the shots , & John O'Dowd folding. E.g Galgorm Group made a £8 million profit on turnover of £32 million but cried about having  tp pay £800k extra in rates. I appreciate they are a major employer but lift the load. I'm sure it is tight in other businesses , but this type of thing needs called out.
Galgorm group would be grand, it's the local pub struggling that would be finished with the new rates hike. Margins are tight enough as it is.
And how big John didn't realise this is a mystery to me.
As for Hospitality Ulster, they sponsor every DUP dinner they can get their hands on and persuaded Lyons to retain the closed shop for pub licenses, even though the recommendation was to free it up.

Demographically it's inching forward, but the absolute state of Sinn Fein in Stormont, they literally haven't a clue. Big O'Dowd Finance Minister, to say he's out of his depth wouldn't do it justice.  It'll happen in spite of them, not because of them.

Quote from: belfastsaff on February 02, 2026, 11:26:27 AMWill Doran get trusted at another crack of getting out of div4 once this year is over ?
His double-jobbing will leave him exposed to a lot of criticism if he doesn't start getting a few results.

Two teams coached to go at it, both a credit to themselves.  Stark contrast from the Intermediate Final dross.  The ref had a very big impact on the outcome in last few minutes.

There's a woman 'playing' a washboard.  That's just trying too hard.

If you were in Greenland and hadn't been taking the Trump threats seriously, you would be now.

Quote from: marty34 on December 27, 2025, 11:04:20 AMIs the GAA just waiting about until 'someone else' does something about Casement?

We're soon into 2026 - another year.

This has been some mess by the head muppets at Uster GAA.

A prime example on how not to do a project like this.
2026 will be the year Sinn Fein and DUP go into election mode so there'll be the usual helping of big talk and no action.  It will also be the year Starmer, Reeves and Benn get the road when Labour get destroyed in the Welsh and Scottish elections, but Casement won't even be in the new crowds top 200 issues to deal with. Ulster Council have been a bunch of amateurs about this.  So I really don't know where it goes from here when you think about who is in the room.

Meanwhile Stormont make £100k available to assist the eel men.  A hundred thousand - wouldn't buy you a back garden these days.

But not the worker. The worker can shell out more to keep the benefits rolling.  And barely a mention of finding any efficiencies.  It'll never last.

Hospitality Ulster and Gordon Lyons conspiring to block any reform to the alcohol licensing laws.  Keeps it a closed shop for license holders, nice wee pension for some.
Stormont spent nearly half a mill on the report and then ignored it. Shocking waste of taxpayer money.  Hospitality Ulster sponsoring every DUP dinner going has paid off nicely.
