Quote from: square_ball on May 10, 2024, 01:31:48 PMWe've been looking up holidays for next May for a family of 5 in the usual places - Majorca, Salou, Albufeira and they're not coming in with much change from £4k and a lot of those are just half board. Pre Covid for a family of 4 we got an inclusive for under £2k in Lanzorote similar time of year.

11 nights in camping Sanguli, sleeps 6, 1400.

City wouldn't have the fanbase UTD have so could give as many tickets away as thry like. Season ticket holders should get 1st preference.
A story you don't see published is the United team paid for all the tickets for the ladies teams families to go to Wembley this Sunday, that is 30 tickets a player. Yes its a drop in thr ocean for multi millionairres but they didn't have to do it.

Laois / Re: Laois U20s and Minors 2024...

I wouldn't be too deflated by that result as Offaly or kilkenny will not only win Leinster, but probably get to an all ireland final. Laois are on a par with wexford and Dublin and that is a major improvement on previous years. A bigger concern is young Cuddy getting sent off, it shouldn't effect the seniors too much, but we are not blessed with 15 or 20 top quality underage hurlers annually, unlike kilkenny, Galway, Tipperary and recently Limerick. The likes of Cuddy, Quintana, Keynes, don't come around regularly. Mark kavanagh is a prime example of a brilliant intelligent hurler that was so prone to injury that he never reached the heights that neither he nor Laois had the privilege to witness.

On the other end of the scale ( NO names mentioned) we have produced more than a couple of hurlers, who for reasons only known to them, have ignored the honour of representing their County in order to give all to their Club. I am in no position to judge anyone as I myself have made multiple mistakes in my life, but when you see Counties like Down, Carlow and Kildare who are of a lesser standard to Laois, giving everything for their Counties, it beggars belief. Down have three hurlers who are from protestant backgrounds and play, inspire of their general communities feeling's regarding the game, gives me a greater understanding about why we will never become strong enough to at least challenge the so called bigger Counties

Quote from: Look-Up! on May 10, 2024, 07:00:22 AMRatcliffe making a lot of noise for a minority stakeholder. Cut all the perks of the staff for FA cup final day just before a swanky lunch for the players' WAGs, all paid for by the club. Nice.

Staff are getting 1 ticket and have to pay £20 for the bus? They have 1,100 staff! as for the dinner, seems that's been a tradition going back to Busby.

I hope they beat Arsenal this weekend  ;D
Man City or any other club gets to a cup final, it's common to give a ticket plus one and pay for lunch and transport on what's a very special occasion. Mean act to take that away from regular staff. I think the problems and imbalance of power at OT will not be sorted out by taking Betsy from the canteen down a peg or two.
Bit of unnecessary chest pumping from the man with the new hat. Lets see how he gets on with the real job.

A tory is gonna tory..

hammer the low hanging fruit.

Definitely shades of a charlatan about him. Utd people are understandably fed up with how the club is ran but I don't understand the "man on a white horse" vibe some are quick enough to bestow on him.

He's a billionaire, same as the Glazers. You don't become one of them by being generous and stupid. He has approx a 25% stake, Glazers 50%. He's the ops manager or whatever, fair enough, but a minority stakeholder none the less. Someone else controls the club. Any of his own money he spends, he immediately, effectively, loses 75% control of. I don't buy it, no one is that stupid or generous and if they were the Glazers would be the first to take full advantage.
As all things associated with Utd, this latest saga is going to be very entertaining if nothing else.

so blame the govt... not 'foreigners' and don't burn down hotels/accommodation!!

International Law is above and beyond teeny extremist minds.

It's not one bit extreme to want to protect your nation's borders. Unless your dream is the mindless anti-fa/ anarchist mantra of "no nations, no borders".
