Quote from: SaffronSports on May 15, 2026, 10:22:15 AMTough ould game tomorrow, must win to complete the job. Crowd will no doubt create a brilliant atmosphere and Celtic have shown multiple times this season that they never give up. I'd be delighted to get over the line but once full time goes in the Scottish Cup final next week, Operation 2026/27 has to begin. There's a serious amount of players not fit to wear the jersey so the management needs to be appointed asap and there needs to be a good clear out of those that aren't good enough and those that don't want to be there. I'm sick of watching Celtic scramble around for loans at the end of August. Get the business done early.

There is the small issue about who will be the manager. Will MON want to give it another year or will they be looking for some other up and coming manager with fresh ideas just like Nancy ;D

His driving and putting were desperate yesterday. I thought he was taking all this time off from the PGA to prep for this tournament but they were saying on TV he only had the one round at the course before this week

Rory started fairly solidly but 3 quick bogeys towards the end of the round and all of a sudden it's looking rather shit

Show me the doubt?

That image is clear cut the only problem is I wouldn't be sure if some tech guys hasnt tweaked it a bit. Anyway still don't understand the hysteria. The big question is what the fook was the defender waving his hand so high up in the penalty area for - it's just asking for trouble. Secondly if this didn't happen then wee Jamie wouldn't be having a stroke on twitter and giving us all a laugh.

Jeez the outrage across the media is ridiculous. You will see soft penalties like that in the premier league every week. Personally I wouldn't have given it but if you raise your hand as the defender did then it becomes a risk. Poor Bryson is having a mare following up with his car crash appearance on Nolan with the Celtic/rangers results last night ;D . As someone pointed out earlier Hearts can cry all they like but if they can't win the league in a year when both Celtic and Rangers had their worst managers in their history then that's on them.

Quote from: marty34 on May 12, 2026, 12:19:51 PMI'd say they'll be a unionist pact this time. They are getting nervous so it'll happen this time with wee Seamy pulling the strings.

DUP want the 'First Minister' position back. Winning it back would be a big PR 'victory' for them. That's what they're gunning for now. You can see this is what they're gearing up for...from yesterday.

Nationalists could take aseat in Strangford and Lagan Valley maybe? But need to work together.

If they have any sense they will vote down the list anyway so a pact is counterproductive, if anything the more parties/choice the more likely people will turn out to vote just as long as they remember to then transfer wisely. The pacts only really work in the general election.

Can't see SF losing first minister position unless there is huge collapse in interest among nationalist voters

Quote from: marty34 on May 12, 2026, 07:21:02 AMNot the DUP obviously but the UUP are deselecting Doug Beattie for the next Assembly elections in 2027.

Why?

Wait for it - "too moderate" apparently.  :o

Saw that and Alan chambers getting the boot as well. The uup under Burrows heading back over towards the DUP. A fools game as it is very crowded over there with TUV as well and a decreasing pool of voters year on year. Interesting that it said Beatie may join another party. But who? Alliance surely wouldn't touch him if they are trying to keep sitting on the fence. Independent candidate at next election much more likely.

If Doug got elected as an independent and Alliance didn't take on Justice, could he be the next justice Minister- Like Claire Sugden was.

It's a good shout, the problem Doug has is as the uup leader he didn't exactly attract the votes in upper bann so he will struggle to get voted back in as an independent. It's quite a busy constituency. Nationalism only has 1 seat when it should have 2 so can imagine he will get squeezed out

Would need some number of cash filled brown paper bags to get anything substantial built on that site in that location.

Quote from: armaghniac on May 07, 2026, 02:55:26 PMEuropean Movement poll

Support for Irish unity within the EU:

Northern Ireland: 63% in favour, 29% against

Republic of Ireland: 59% in favour, 22% against

There is no way that 63% of the people in Northern Ireland want a united Ireland

Well if you only listen to the likes of the DUP, Peter Shirlow end even Mick featly then yes it would seem impossible as they just look at the SF/SDLP vote stagnating at 40% for 20 yrs, they conveniently ignore the unionist vote in free fall they ignore the 20% pro EU middle ground being very different to the 5% that voted for the very pro unionist alliance party in the nineties. That 20% middle ground now transfer heavily to nationalists but those lads seem to just think they are still blanket unionists. So under the right circumstances there is already enough there to make the jump. A Reform party landslide at the next general election might just help speed things up

Quote from: Snapchap on May 01, 2026, 11:20:24 AMI suppose Nolan goes all out in the show to challenge the police on the institutional sectarianism in it's ranks, yeah?

Enjoy it for what it is. The type of show isn't new but obviously interesting because it's Belfast and you recognise the locations and you see the type of carry on going on in places you walk past every day. And if you don't like Nolan then you have the added bonus of everyone giving him abuse and calling him a fat bastard.

Peelers was very good. Very depressing the number of absolute  ballbags around the place
