Has anyone considered the possibility that Burnham doesn't win the by election? They did really really badly there in the council elections last week. Different kettle of fish in a general of course with a potential future leader on the ballot, but he has a huge gap to close. It may be a bridge too far?
How do Makerfield voters feel about their constituency being used like this by the Burnham side of Labour?

I was indeed being pedantic with my comment about Ashkenazi's not being semites and Gallsman comment about it being "widely understood" is accepted at being anti jew, if being incorrect is probably the accepted understanding, yet the IHRA description of anti-semitism bundles any criticism of Israel as also being anti-semitic.

Those who felt the need to bundle the state of Israel as being an entirely Jewish entity and hence criticism is anti-semitic have done more harm to the Jewish people than they envisaged.

When I explain too people over here we've a league competition that nobody really wants to win they all laugh and can't understand it as it doesn't make sense and their right!

Get rid of the league, find a way of creating some sort of advantage for winning a provincial title, split the championship into Senior/Intermediate/Junior and find a way of creating enough jeopardy. A 10 team Sam Maguire, 5 home games and 4 away games for a provincial winner. Top 2 into a semi final, 3-6 into the quarter finals and 9th & 10th are relegated. It would be great viewing and very few games that meant nothing.

The difficulty is unlike hurling where counties were happy to "give up the ghost", football is far more enfranchised and all counties want a cut at Sam Maguire, even if they know it is remote.

But they all do have a cut at Sam, if you aren't good enough to get up the leagues and not good enough to get to a provincial final then you don't deserve a chance. The TC and leagues are great for teams to develop and push themselves up the ranks.

Yes. Best we could hope for then a decent draw in the back door against similar level teams which we got in was it 2017 against the likes of Kildare before being tanked against Tyrone.

At the time we'd have probably had a decent chance at a TC and would have been realistic silverware when we were well behind Tyrone and Donegal in Ulster never mind Kerry/Dublin/Mayo.

Why, is a Ulster title not worth sthing, only 1 team can win a All-Ireland, u get nothing for getting to a semi or final and losing, as you would know.

To Joe, shocking isn't a word I'd use to describe Motherwell's form of late, they peed on Rangers at Ibrox, have reversed their recent surprise loss v Falkirk and imo  before those two games should at least have come away with a draw at Hearts. That's their form going into this game.

MON could be accused of sabotaging the team to some extent with his selections and tactics. Why has Hatate been gaslit since that woeful loss to v D utd?  Nygryn hasn't done anything of note since feb except to pick up award trophies. And why no Sarrachi? Playing Maeda up front and switching him out to the left when Kelechi comes on  so far has worked, but it works better when Sarrachi come on. defenses are at 6s&7s

Got to agree with this. I think too much being made of the short turn around. Basically the same for both teams
