The biggest issue at stake here for the US is the petrodollar.

If Iran starts selling oil to the rest of the world in anything other than the USD, and others follow suit then the inflated value of the dollar takes a serious hit and that will have huge implications for the US economy.

BRICS has been attempting this for a while now and has been unsuccessful. Will this war be enough to split the global economy and remove the US hegemony?

Trump never thought this through at all, but he's Netanyahu's bitch because of the Epstein files and will do as he's told.

Quote from: DaleCooper on March 31, 2026, 12:15:43 AMIran has been obliterated!

Their Navy GONE

Their air force GONE

Total victory for Team USA!

Victory declared at least ten times...

Then came the 48 hour warning to Iran. Then 6 days that was extended to 10 days.

Now the Oompa Loompa is threatening to bomb desalination plants and oil wells. Bluffing moron has no idea who he is trying to bluff. Winning!

Meanwhile Iran calmly wrecks 6+ supertankers and an irreplacable AWACS plane that is one of only 16 in existence[700 million USD to replace] stationed at a Saudi base.

Iran have went from launching 400+ missiles per day at the start of March to about 10 a day now. Their missile launch centres have been decimated. 30 or 40 of their senior government officials have been killed including the big cheese himself.
Trump spouting incoherent nonsense does not discredit these facts.
The only "weapon" they have now is the price of oil.

Blah blah senior hurling blah blah Fermanagh Ulster Championship blah blah a dozen twitter links in one post.
Some amount of hot air on this thread.

If all this is true then why aren't the US war ships lined up the Strait of Hormuz ensuring the oil tankers are flowing freely, those big beautiful oil tankers.

Quote from: bennydorano on March 30, 2026, 03:08:28 PMNot sure why people think Iran is doing well in this conflict? It is being systematically pulverised. Iran has got a lot of low hanging fruit in terms of it's resistance strategy - economic pressure, the choke point of Hormuz is an open goal and a plentiful supply of cheap drones that it can launch from anywhere, they've certainly a huge nuisance value, but to characterise as much more  than that is balls imo.
They don't need to "win" in a traditional sense to actually win the war as daft as that sounds, as long as they can keep causing economic hassle and keep firing missiles they're doing alright. By all accounts they've done a lot more harm to Tel Aviv than is being let on.

That's bollocks to be honest. Their infrastructure is pulverised as well as lots of their military facilities, their navy vessels and their air force. They've suffered tens of billions of damage and that's before we mention the thousands of citizen's who have died. All they've to show for their attacks on Israel and American is a few damaged streets in Israel and Americans paying more for gas. It's been a very expensive war for Iran no matter what the outcome.

Iran didn't start this war, Israel and the US did.

There's no winning in this for anyone, surviving is where it's at for Iran, but at the same time the US has gotten it's nose bloodied, and Israel is no long untouchable.

That causes huge issues for the Zionist project and all those Ashkenazi's with dual passports maybe no longer comfortable living in air raid shelters and will return back to Europe to relative safety.

They do whatever they want and there is nothing you or any of the rest of us can do about it. It is anything but finished.

Zionism as a concept is well over 100 years old, before the Balfour accord, it isn't going away sadly, it just needs neutered and work within a human rights structure, something Zionists haven't been doing since 1947.

It's hard to know what is actually happening over there as there's some amount of BS floating about.

What we do know is that the USS Gerald Ford, the pride of the US naval fleet is in Croatia and not near Iran if there is going to be a ground force parachuted into Iran.

That was some laundry fire that would require this ship to be that far away from all this.

We also know that Iran is able to take out US aircraft sitting on Arab bases, to what extent we really won't know.

Quote from: nrico2006 on March 29, 2026, 11:55:38 PMHave many taken out a new policy, in addition to one you have for your own car, and put their child down as named driver? Or even included their wife too?

No, never thought of trying that but check if it's allowed and how much you'd actually save as i'm sure they would have already thought of that.
As David mentioned stay away from Block Box policies as you think you're saving £1k at the time but a few cancelled policies later it ends up costing you more. We have had two cancelled policies recently...1 for driving at night (that's what young ones do) and the other for having an accident which we also took the case up with Finanical Ambudsman and still got raped so stay away from Hastings and Black Boxes if you can...

I've the young lad on a car with Hastings and a black box...

Is there an issue with driving at night with them?

Portaferry were minus 10 of their county players against us, so it was ultimately their seconds team. We were down 4 of the county lads as well. We'll not be getting too excited about that result but we'll readily take the 2 points.

Turns out Down hurlers were in Tipp playing a friendly either on friday night or Saturday afternoon and anyone who played more than 30 minutes wasn't released back to their clubs.

The man is a moron.

Talking about pens and offering to answer questions on anything including sex.

In any sane world he'd be led away to retire barking at the moon.

Probably should be further in front from the black card period penalty miss aside

Quote from: lurganblue on March 27, 2026, 03:36:06 PMCertainly a hard one to take lads, and hard not to see it as a big opportunity missed.  Should have won it in normal time, and really had plenty of the ball to get the winner too but just seemed to lack the killer pass. I dont think they get that 2nd goal if Scales is there, but maybe I'm deluded in that.

One thing for sure is though, we have a team that will fight for every ball.  They'll put a shift in.  And there is quality there too.  It's a process, but I think we can all see the improvement.

The wee pasty bollox from Wolves managed to get his head on quite a few corners before he scored that goal.
