There is a programme on Fergie's 1st 25 years on 5Live tonight at 7.

The first 25 years? Is there going to be a second?  :D Maybe Fergie plans to be manager until he's 94.

I bet 9 out of 10 of those who criticise the Rules series, still watch it. I hate rugby, and totally avoided the recent world cup. If you don't like the Rules, don't watch it, or comment on it. Stop criticising players who take part or fans who enjoy these games.

Does anyone know if I can watch any TG4 program that's been shown, on the TG4 player? There's something I missed the other night and was hoping to watch it on the player.

When's the draw for this?

Quote from: imtommygunn on September 13, 2010, 09:46:20 PMTo be honest something has to be done about it. I bought Oxegen tickets the other year and it cost me about 14 euros. There's bound to be watchdog or someone who could do something about it.

I saw Watchdog a few months ago about these rip off charges. Airlines were the worst. I thought, ah they're going to look into this finally. Nope, they just gave examples of such charges then moved onto something else. something needs to be done. Apparently Ryanair charge £5 per flight, £10 for a return. feckin ridiculous!

The sooner the CL becomes knockout only the better. I'm an United fan and I was bored shitless tonight. Same with any other CL game I've seen so far this season. Make it a knockout only competition, get rid of away goals and we might see some decent games.

Paddy Heaney wrote an interesting article in Tuesdays Irish News about its impending doom.

I don't think the Australian public care for this series as much as the Irish. But GAA is the biggest sport in Ireland. Aussie Rules competes with cricket, the rugby's and soccer down under. 22,000 at the first test sums up the level of interest. They also failed to attract a sponsor for the series. This could well be the last series. For a few years anyway.

I'm not sure McGuigan deserved an all star in 05. Canavan or Mulligan certainly didn't.

Canavan didn't play in the league that year. Was sub v Dublin in both games as far as I recall. Got a couple of points in the semi and a goal in the final. Only played half of both. Mulligan had done nothing up until that goal against Dublin. Had a good game in the replay, and was average enough in the semi and final. Ronan Clarke had a better year than all three.

It's seems to be if a player does something memorable he'll get an all star... Cassidy's point, Gormley's block, Mulligans goal, Cluxton's point etc.

Never really liked Jordan. He just had one of those faces. A bit like John Terry or CJ McGourty. One you'd love to slap. Nothing personal. It's probably just a tribal thing. But I suppose his record speaks for itself.

McGuigan was a decent player in his day. He suffered bad injuries too and was nice to see him return afterwards. Am i correct in saying that because of his injuries and being off work, the GAA made sure in future, players were compensated in such circumstances?

How in God's name is Wayne Rooney on the Ballon d'Or shortlist? He was ket at the tail end of last season. Granted he has had a decent start to the season but Silva has been better. Very strange decision!!

Because he's a well known player. In 1999 David Beckham was 2nd. Roy Keane and Peter Schmeichel had far better campaigns and were nowhere near the top 5.

Don't like Tubridy on TLLS. Couldn't stand Gaybo either, but he was a great host nonetheless.

Nobody can match Gerry Ryan on the radio. He had a way with people, and a voice you could trust. He could get away with saying anything too. Tubridy doesn't have that.

You obviously have some scientific data for your volcano theory?

I've done plenty of research on the subject.

And do you have scientific data to confirm your theory?!

Nonsense: it's never heated up at this rate (yes, it has cooled to ice and heated to desert before, but much more slowly than currently). It's basic science.

A couple hundred years of industry, cars, aeroplanes etc is to blame is it? Bollocks it is.

A volcano throws out millions of tonnes of pollution into the atmosphere. Supervolcanoes in the past, hundred times more. The damage man does is a drop in the ocean compared to that.

Al Gore flies around the world in his private jet, preaching to people about manmade global warming. You couldn't make it up.

The earth heats up and cools down all the time. Has done for millions of years. The earth maybe heating up again but it's got feck all to do with man...or woman neither. It's just another reason to tax us monkeys even more.
