Nice kit, but the stars...?

Stars are always a nice touch in my opinion.

Maybe, but Tyrone with three, ourselves sticking two on, Derry one... is it not all a little "small time" when you have Kerry, Dublin and even the likes of Cork, Meath and Galway out there with nothing on their jersey?

Nothing new here

It isn't small time winning an all Ireland and those teams deserve to be honoured in that way. Its a nice touch and symbolic. Chill out

I'm very chilled - it's an academic argument which doesn't really matter much.

And I didn't say it was "small time" winning an All Ireland or that such achievements shouldn't be honoured. I watch Donegal's two wins regularly myself. I'd have no objections to statues of McEniff and McGuinness outside MacCumhaill Park someday or murals of Murphy, Manus Boyle and Karl Lacey etc. honoring the players. Whatever a county wants to do. Just not sure that putting a couple of stars on a jersey is the best approach when the most successful counties have nine or ten times as many.

I'd personally rather Donegal did not go down that road. Others are free to disagree.

Should we put 3 or 7?

That shouldn't be in question!!

7 of course.

And bring back the white and gold sleeves from circa.97-00
We won an All-Ireland in Hurling 98.
Leinster Football 97.
NFL Division 1 98.

We should bring back the black numbers while we're at it.

Tyrone will need a 4th star by next September.

If you look closely at that jersey you can see how far Meath stars has fallen

Does that mean we'll have to buy an updated jersey with the 4th start on it? It's genius really!
That was never a square ball!!

Meath Done a jersey roughly ten years ago with the 7 stars across the back of it. It was horrendous.

I think the stars are a version of small man syndrome. Cavan could have 5 . Tyrone think 3 is the dog's bollocks. Nobody else compares themselves to Armagh.

Nice kit that - definitely a case of less is more. Keep the design relatively plain - looks much better. If Armagh are due a change (which I don't think one is due), then I hope they take note.

As regards the change to white shorts for Tyrone a few years back, was that not because way back in the day the kit was traditionally all white with a red trim?

we have had the current one for two years which is generally the length of time a jersey lasts

I think the normal period before a jersey change is three years. Exceptions are usually around a change to shirt sponsorship, as was the case when we parted company with Hugh Morgan.
No it seems to be two years now with three being increasingly the exception.

Tyrone's is alright but three things I'm not gone on:
-The collar, looks a bit flimsy
-The three stripes stopping at the shoulders and not going on the sleeve
-The three stars, really unnecessary tbh

Aping the soccer folk

Am i not right in thinking the last jersey had the 3 stars as well (and possibly the one before that as well?)
Not a major fan of it either, but i think the meath one has the same thing?

I didn't think Donegal had the 2 stars on the jersey and we definitely don't have a star on ours. I think it's a bit sad really compared to the other 5 teams you just mentioned and I wouldn't want it on our jersey either.

Reminds me of the soccer AM campaign for England to put the star on their jersey from their WC win in 1966.
