Owen McHale with a bad miss for a good goal chance just before Galway get leading point near the halftime whistle. Mayo struggling to cope with the Galway defence so far taking poor percentage shots from distance. Poor game thus far.

Quite poor really from two sides who should be two of the better teams in Ireland. Lots of basic errors

Do they ever cut the grass in Tuam? It's not helping matters.

You'd want to be some complete sad case to be loudly jeering an underage young fella kicking a wide, as happened with Culhane twice there. In a stadium with 500 people to boot

The jeering after wides has been creeping it the last 5+ years or so especially. Absolutely hate it. Obviously stands out more when it's a small crowd.

Completley agree. If I were next to them I would tell them to shut up, and I am from Mayo.

Only 10 minutes into the 2nd half but already a better match. Mayo 0-6 Galway 0-5

7 points each with 5 minutes of normal time to play

FT Galway 0-8 Mayo 0-8. Extra time to be played.

Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Goal for Galway from a penalty in the 1st minute of extra time.

1st half of extra time over and its still anyones game 0-10 to 1-8.

Crazy stuff from the Galway sub to get black carded in ET for a completely unnecessary off the ball foul. Left his team down to 14 when they are knackered.

Full time Galway 1-8 Mayo 0-11. Just like last year a penalty shoot out to find a winner.

Penalties again. McLaughlin very nearly kicked the winning point from a huge free off the ground that wasn’t far from midfield. Just fell under the cross bar.

Refereeing a scandal there in ET. Mayo equaliser about as far from a free as you can get. Galway win the kick out at the end, Mayo midfielder cynically trips his man for a black card. Instead of a normal attack the ref tells Galway the ball must go dead from the free? From 65 yards out? What on earth

Must say I couldn’t see where the free was for that equaliser alright.

Mayo have had a plethora of chances, even a mark in front of goal in normal time to win it not claimed. Very entertaining though!
