There is something I always wondered, and if anyone on here is from his club could you shed any light on it.

Is stephen o'neill a county before club man?
He doesnt seem to play too well for his club, or score heavily in intermediate football and yet he is the captain of our county senior team.
I was wondering, does he give everything for his club, or does he rest a lot in preparation for county games? i would expect a man of his ability to be hitting huge scores in division 2 year after year and yet it doesnt seem to happen. He can be mercurial in croker in january and often during the county league and yet for his club, he seems non existent. i dont think he has been the top scorer in the division he has played in in a number of years. granted this may be a lot to do with the standard of ball coming into him, but still he should be scoring a lot heavier.

anyone think the same? does anyone feel other county players are different in club football?

Teams paid £450 to enter a competition and never kicked a ball
yeah, the thinking behind changing the format to league instead of knockout was to ensure clubs werent paying the £450 fee for just one game, but this hasnt solved anything it has just added more meaningless games to an already congested fixture list.
Surely its better having a competitive knockout competition than one that alot of clubs dont enter and that is made farcical by no shows and conceding of matches.
If the issue is the fee, it should be somehow incorporated with the adult fees and the u21s restructured as a competiton clubs actually WANT to take part in.

We have found nothing wrong the u21 competition other than the timing of it in the past and we feel the timing of games this year has been alot better that asking our u21s to turn out in November to train (which they were not interested in)and play, this year they knew the compo was early and therefore got out to train with more enthusiasm because of playing in good weather. Why would any club not field there team, unless they realised they were going to bet well beaten, we have always fielded a team. What clubs didn't enter that would have made any difference, if they had anything you can be sure they would have been playing. Desperately poor excuse and attitude from those clubs. The only team who would have a genuine gripe about the timing of it this year could be Omagh due to a Clarke playing for the county seniors, but it didn't stop Gruggan playing, nearly a row over that, but we'll say nothing about it on here.

My club didnt enter this year despite having won it (div 2) several times over the past few years
we played in one final on 23rd december and another one a few years later on something like the 14th January the following year!
There are far too many games conceded , and like alot of the other fixtures it is very disjointed.
this year there were group stages of 6 teams with 4 teams 'qualifying' for the next round, but then alot of the games in the league section werent even played anyway.
One team qualified without playinga  single game! what is the point of that?
maybe the timing of it this year was better for the u21s , but it certainly did nothing to help the senior fixtures, causing a 2/3 week break in the middle of the summer.

What under 21 game did grugan play in ? I watched Dromore v Omagh in the under 21s this year and neither Clarke, Grugan or O Neill played for Omagh

Thanks Clarshack, that makes it all ok then  8) lol

was a yellow card at most anyway imo. gareth's reputation got him sent off and not the actual offence itself.

If drawing your boot off a defender who is carrying the ball out of defence while Stewartstown were defending a one point lead in injury time is only a yellow card offence then I guess you're right Clarshack! Never mind the fact that if said referee had any balls Gareth and his nephew Cathal would have been sent off long before that incident for continually roaring and swearing the referees face!

Who was the ref?

Not sure of his name, Trillick man. Had a decent enough game with decision making, just a bit weak on being intimidated by the Devlins.
If in doubt...get 'er out!

The Beard

Beragh v Tattyreagh   4pm
Drumragh v Drumquin   5.30pm
Errigal III v Killyman
Castlederg v Killeeshil   5pm

couple of tasty encounters there. there should be a fair bit of bite between Red knights and the 'tatts'. drumragh and drumquin know each other well too. the derg and killeeshil is interesting, would the dergs league form leave them favourites for this one? would have imagined that happening 6-7years ago

Killeshil beat Castlederg  0-18 to 0-10.

EC Unique

Our minors qualified for the county final what seems like months ago and no idea when the final is. The best minor forward in Tyrone is playing for us but no longer on the Tyrone panel (by his own choice).

Get your head out of your hole EC Unique, if he was the best minor in Tyrone he would have stayed on the panel and proved this.

Ridiculous speak from yourself.
