Last group matches played in the Connacht U17 championship tonight.

Leitrim 1-10 Galway 2-17
Sligo 0-11 Mayo 1-12

Galway into the semi final on scoring difference ahead of Sligo.  Will play Roscommon next Friday and the winner of that match will face Mayo in the final.

Semi final set for Tuam Stadium so it made no difference to finish 2nd or 3rd in the group.

Just goes to show not everyone has the same feelings about them.

Israel have suddenly gone 2nd in the betting at 11/2.  Croatia still the favourties at 8/11.

Europa League final in Dublin will be Bayern Leverkusen v Atalanta.  No Conference League final for Aston Villa beaten 6-2 on AGG against Olympiakos and they will face Fiorentina in the final.

From GAA.ie a blow for Derry.

QuoteDerry defender, Padraig McGrogan, has admitted he'll miss the rest of the season after rupturing a cruciate ligament in his right knee.

The Newbridge clubman sustained the injury in training on the Thursday after Derry's Ulster SFC quarter-final defeat to Donegal and hopes to undergo surgery next month.

A hugely consistent performer, his absence is a big blow to Derry's All-Ireland ambitions.

"There's no hiding it now, it was done a couple of weeks ago and it just is what it is," said McGrogan today.

"It was the ACL so I won't be taking part in much more now for this season.

"I just went to turn inside, and I just knew right away that I'd done something. It was just a freak accident. It can happen so easily. You never fear it, I felt 100pc the whole way through training and it just happened suddenly, it was just a freak thing.

"I knew right away it was fairly serious. There was a bit of a crunch, and the pain let me know there was something not right anyway."

0-0 at half time 2-2 on AGG. Real Madrid had a few decent chances to score. Bayern Munich with I think one effort and that was a routine save

Quote from: balladmaker on May 08, 2024, 11:40:18 AMI see the GAA have launched series tickets today ... 50 euro for 3 games, but strangely, only Dublin have the option of juvenile tickets at 15 euro for 3 games ... I assume they will correct this and make juvenile tickets available to all counties.

It was 25 euro per game last year with no package option at least they have used a bit of common sense this year.

Longford 0-11 Louth 0-10
Kildare 1-12 Dublin 2-10

Longford beat Dublin in the group stage 3-8 to 1-9 last month.

Dublin were 5 down with less than 10 to go and got two successive goals.

1-11 to 0-9 to Kildare with three minutes of normal time to play. Kildare had the opportunity to bring the game into extra time with score able free but kicked it wide.  In the other semi final Longford led for the first time in added time and Louth with the last kick of the game dropped a free short.

Semi final on now.  Irish song on 4th I don't think it's a good song but they have advertised it well around Europe and the singer/artist seems to be popular.
