I know it has been said over and over but like who would go in for Ole if he got the boot. What team would he get a job at.
It was the same with Lampard. In fact they have another thing in common in that neither of them had a set pattern of play and relied on flashes of class from individuals to win games.

Look at the difference Tuchel brought them when he came in. Now imagine what another top coach could do with that United squad.

Also, lots on social media re saying that Maguire is good with England. That´s because Rice and Philips are protecting him the defence and they are better than.
It's like asking why Pogba can't play in a two for United with Matic/ Fred/ Mc...well he plays with Kante for France.

I'm due another rant after this - https://www.irishexaminer.com/sport/gaa/arid-40716857.html

So, Kerry fans make sure to read Jack's body language as he doesn't always actually tell you what he is doing.

He was on the Podcast at the end of August where he was introduced as the CURRENT Kildare manager. But, again it's hard to read the body language over Zoom...

Like FFS!

I get more bothered by Jack O'Connor leaving Kildare after agreeing to stay on the more it goes on and I really hope it all goes to shite. The nice view is to thank the man and all that, but he got his coin.

Suddenly, after two years he realises Kerry and Kildare are very far from each other the commute is a big issue...going on the podcast as Kildare manager sounding out the Kerry job on August 30th...his sons moved on back to Kerry so that link was gone too.

He would have left Kildare if Keane got the boot last year too. (I'm gone very bitter in this mild weather!!)

McEntee wasn't expected was it? Obviously delighted to see Meath in turmoil and I am agin Jacko at Kerry too now, so I am happy to see gripes and the likes in both place.

But who is lined up for Meath?

Exciting is right and I really hope they do the job. And being honest I hope Jacko crashes and burns in Kerry.
Like he must have been making moves for months all the while telling Kildare he was on board. And he would have jumped if Keane got the boot last year. It's great to have a Kildare man in charge who genuinely gives a shite and is around the county.

I really felt there was no positive presence from Kildare footballers during the pandemic (I do know the lads did a lot with their clubs) compared to Herity getting the hurlers out to do charity runs and so on.
I know that is an aside from the football but a real presence in the county is massive.

It will be a tough year all the same as I do see Kildare struggling in Division 1 but if we can perform to a decent standard and get some consistency it'll be a start.

I was excited about Kenny and still do back him but it was embarrassing listening to George Hamilton and Stephen Kenny on comms. You'd swear we played Brazil off the pitch.

Still I was fully invested and delighted to get the late goal. This craic of people not wanting the team to win is bollox to me.

It's not a case of either playing progressive football or hoofball. There can be a mix. We are hearing about the new style but I saw a stat that there were 30 crosses in the second half alone last Saturday.
Last night McClean whipped in crosses as soon as he could, but we didn't get enough bodies in.

Also I can't listen to all the praise Kenny is getting re Omobamidele without anyone asking why the feck he dropped him, brought in McClean and switched Doherty across (after a great game on the left v Portugal) when Azerbaijan came to town?

Like it's not always a personal attack on Kenny to question things.

I think the county are very keen for Davy Burke, but county board would probably take Cribbin.
Anthony Rainbow is another man who has cut his teeth as well.

Kildare have no money so it won't be a big name outsider I don't think.

This line here: "if you want an easy life, you go coach somewhere else" sums it up.
You are pretty much saying that you go coach Kildare or the likes for an easy life.

He is making his move to go back again and to be honest he never really seemed embedded in Kildare. It really just felt like he was doing a gig and not really IN IT.
That is my own feeling and I know he put in serious miles (and mileage...) and we had a decent year but I think we need someone closer to home to kickstart it all a bit.

What is the mood in Kerry towards him? I see the Kerryman are pretty much saying he is keen to return.

So when all this started and Kenny got the job we were all excited about Bazunu, Kelleher, Connolly, Parrott. Idah, Knight and more. That's not even including the likes of Omobamidele and Collins at the back...
Now the system that produced all those lads is shite and the reason we can't play is that we have no players and there is nothing Kenny can do about it...so the FAI need to build an academy system (which they do!)
Our U17s also beat Mexico and there are some good players there, again in the system that is not fit for purpose...

We are playing progressive football but I saw a stat that we swung 30 crosses into the box in the second half alone that last day...a big Shane Duffy header salvages a point.

We did very well v Portugal and then he changes the formation and brings in McClean and drops McGrath. He sticks with three at the back and drops Omobamidele...

I am north anti-Kenny and I do think we are a bad team at the moment but he can't be absolved for some strange calls. If we stuck with 5-3-2 with wing backs and had Hourihane in with McGrath and Cullen we would got more control.
Troy Parrot is always poor when he pushed out wide IMO.

And it doesn't have to be an extreme of going from a progressive manager to Pulis or Big Sam but like surely questions are allowed to be asked. It's either knives out or defend the manager no matter what these days.

If we don't get some performances before the end of the campaign how can he go on?

I think you can certainly question his tactics and selection. The problem i see here is people who clearly know nothing about soccer other than sitting on their holes roaring at Man Utd or Liverpool on tv every week, coming on and somehow expecting Ireland to be going to Portugal and winning and when they dont its the managers fault.

I was positive overall when he came in and I know it has not been an easy year, but he has switched from his 4-3-3 with the 21s which we were told was his go-to and since then there have been a good few swaps.
V Portugal it looked good but then

Next day, if he is being given a free hit he should start Omobamidele, McGrath and have Manning in there too. Doherty RWB, Manning LWB and get one more creative player out there if he can.
Hourihane is decent championship level and that is better than a lot of what we have.

That was a seriously well-drilled Meath outfit. They never panicked and were not afraid to take the direct opponent on.

Like the Dub lads, the women seemed a bit shell-shocked when it was really put up to them. Putting Goldrick on Wall was a bad move as she wasn't able for her and ended up sacrificing her own game too.
Dublin never stopped the goalie option either. She was so cool on the ball and gave a great 'out' at all times.

Good game and to be fair there were some hits and the game went on, although Dublin got a series of very soft frees in the second half.

Great game!

In terms of the match itself we need to actually own the ball a bit and play. Is there a need for Hendrick?

Cullen, McGrath and Hourihane maybe? McGrath really stepped up in fairness.

Parrott instead of Connolly up top? Connolly is very headless and takes so many bad options, which is an awful pity as he makes good runs.

Slattery's do pizzas too I think but it's always mobbed.

Now this is on the way out from town as opposed to right beside it but https://the-square-ball.com/...

Schoolhouse is another one with burgers outside and grub too and it's not mobbed.
