All too easy for Kerry in this form they won't be caught on the hop in Munster this year. Full time 3-22 to 1-11

Kerry will have had harder training matches. Guaranteed semi finalists I think they will blow Cork away this year. They do have a luxury of riches up front but the test will come in an AI semi final in a tight match against the Ulster winners.

Took a bit of David Clifford magic to get Kerry going after a slow start. Kerry 1-4 to 0-1 ahead

Half time Kerry 1-11 Tipperary 1-3. Tipp goal a Conor Sweeney penalty.

Full Time Kerry 1-19 Tipperary 1-8. Munster champions bow out. Fairly boring half of football between two sides that knew that contest was as good as over at half time.

Doesn't seem to be very much between the two sides. Wouldn't be surprised if it went to extra-time.

Cork had a bit more of the general play but Kerry were more clinical with their shooting. [Cork hit the post 3 times versus Kerry once]

To me it looked like a couple of players (moreso the Kerry ones, as they were playing into it) has trouble with low sun in their eyes.

Possible way back now, goal from a penalty (foot block) Cork down to 14 men. 3-11 to 3-8

FT Cork 3-12 Kerry 3-11. Winner in the 4th minute of injury time. Credit to both teams the best match I watched so far this year.

Cork probably favourites now but defence may be their weak spot.

I see only 2,500 being allowed for Senior Final in Killarney.

Cork had little focus on defence last night, I'd expect that to be different for the AI series. In the term of strength, size and physicality Cork look the stand out team at U20 level this year.

Only 2,500 is daft, Kerry I believe pushed hard for a bigger attendance and were told they needed to switch to all seater stadium for a bigger crowd, they opted to stick with home advantage instead.

Luke Connolly kicked one nice score with the outside of his boot, but other than that has given away loads of cheap possession. Cork defenders did well enough I thought with how much pressure was put on him.

Kerry will ramp it up in the second half and win at a canter. I fancy the winners of Tyrone/Monaghan to give them a tough game though. They are there to be got at it defensively and in midfield.

Should that not be a black card and a penalty under the new rules?

Do you mean the Cork player taken clean out of it with a body check in the first half? Def black card. Cork were running through Kerry down the left side. Had the ref correctly issued a black card Cork would prob have pushed their dominance hard up until half time and who knows?   The ref instead chose to bottle it in Killarney.

I was actually talking about the time in the second half when Clifford was clearly dragged back just outside the penalty box, and a free was given. Under these new rules surely that's a perfect example of a black card and penalty. Now, the game was long over at that point so it makes no difference, it's just another example of there being no consistency in how this rule is applied. And of course Dessie the gombeen has no notion of it either, as he called that " a perfect decision by the ref".

Missed parts of the first half so I can't remember the incident you're referring to, does sound like a similar case from that description.

Slagging Dessie off about not knowing the rule, but not knowing the rule yourself?
Drag back is not a black card. You have to deliberately bring someone to the ground without playing the ball to warrant the black card.

Not talking about Schtike, but it’s often the ones who give out most about the black card who are the ones calling for more black cards to be given. The way the rule is written, the black card is hard to get. Or should be hard to get if reffed correctly.

Yes I thought that incident was a black card, not sure it was a penalty as there was plenty around him in fairness, he gave a yellow I think so possibly interpreted it as a foul as he tried to play ball?

As for the other one, he didn’t see it and that’s the call of the linesman

I think you are mistaken Hound,
it is a new rule.
“If a cynical foul is committed on an attacking player with a goal-scoring opportunity inside the 20-metre line or the semi-circular arc, then a penalty will be awarded to the team affected.” A black card and 10-minute sin-bin will also be given.

When Leitrim and Sligo counties with two of the smallest populations lost by a simliar margin to Mayo the outcry from the national media and pundits was embarrassing, humiliation, restructure the championship now before the sky falls in but Cork with one of the biggest populations suffer the same fate to Kerry yesterday and score just two points in the 2nd half it was mostly silence while the media and pundits used their time to talk up Kerry. Probably because judging a teams form across a period of time as opposed to basing it on one single performance is a truer measure of a counties standing. That is what the League system produces - a gauge as to what level a team is really at. By any measure, Sligo and Leitrim would both be considerably weaker than Cork. A result like yesterday would leave you questioning the current status of Cork football alright but should have absolutely no influence on whether to restructure the championships.

Cork seem to have sorted out their underage teams at least.

Indeed...a pair of one-point wins over the arch enemy should do wonders for those squads.  Stopped the 9 in a row Munster Minor titles bid for Kerry tonight.

Cork have a fair few dual guys in both minor and U20 panels...always interesting to see how many opt for the hurling only, as that is considered far superior by all in Cork, especially the County Board.

FT in the Munster Minor football final Cork 1-17 Limerick 0-13.  Strong finish to the game by Cork as Limerick led 0-13 to 1-9 with 7 minutes to play.

When was the last time anyone played on both senior panels at the same time?
