Any views from tonight's games? Any stand out performances?

Great game of football down in carmen, picked up where we left off in Dunmoyle last season and blitzed Dromore after they took an early lead. Carmen missing 7 or 8 starters from that league final so great to see a few new faces get it over the line.  Dromore also missing a good few so I'm sure they will take a lot from it too.

What happened our neighbours down in Lough and in Clonoe v moortown?

Defeats the purpose of any sort of rules or guidelines when clubs can just overturn such decisions like this / red cards. However fair play to Gcastle legal team for getting around this one.. They'll need to be on their A game once again in a few months to appeal the outcome of the division 1 relegation.

Where is the petition to keep both Greencastle & Aghyaran both in the slums of Division 2 for the foreseeable and let the rest of the county view a fixture schedule.  Gone are the days of a good 2 months notice for teams to prepare for their first game or even have a date as to when the ball is thrown in..

Does it really matter if you don't know who you are playing until the week before? You booking a hotel or travel arrangements. The county squad hasn't even been finalised, you can't set fixtures until the county squad is known. Owen Mulligan just said yesterday he expects 4 or 5 U20 players to move to senior ranks.

It would do no harm having travel arrangements or accommodation sorted if playing Aghyaran away

Don't see any team news regarding the team tomorrow but is there any word if the panel has been cut after the McKenna cup or are they carrying a full fleet of players for the NL and cut before Championship

Donaghmore thirds? Is that a thing?

Won't be a thing for too long. A serious commitment from a club of that size to keep a creditable 3rds team going - fair play for trying but I feel it will be too much for them
I think it is a good move, maybe a year too soon. They have serious numbers coming through and Ned to keep them involved.
If you have 2 minor teams (38+players) and only. 2-3 make Senior in the following year you lose a lot of late developers, especially as it is now u17.

Great move and great to see, ambitious and keeps lads of all ages and abilities playing longer, you're a long time retired. Really great way to target late developers too. If Adrian Cush togs out I'll happily pay at the gate!
I'm not so sure.. we experimented with a thirds team for a year or 2 and I would say most people in the club have mixed feelings about it. It kept older boys who weren't fit for senior or reserve football out and at it and younger boys just coming out of minor a bit of game time. I think unless you can keep men motivated and playing a considerably decent level it eventually falls through and numbers start dwindling away as your good young players are taken into senior and reserve panels. Fair play to donaghmore for the ambition but I'd give it 2 years max

I fancy Greencastle to hit the 10 point mark next year as a minimum. They have always held their own in Senior and I think they will again.
Are you staying on yourself next year Sean?

Donaghmore field a weak team
Thus keeping Derrylaughlan up - league is a complete joke.
Shouldn't have this problem any more with split season. Time will be given to finish the league and should be done by the end of Sept/start of Oct at the latest then you get your Championship played off.

I heard reports that the League 'Final' is fixed for next Saturday 1.30pm in Dunmoyle. I hope it lives up to the expectation and hype which will surround it this week given the age old rivalry between the pair and everything that has went on over the last fortnight.

So have Carrickmore won the league then or not... could County Board still rule in favour of Errigal and get the final league game on TyroneGaaTV? £££

Still awaiting confirmation from the Ulster council on their verdict I believe, not sure what the plans are for this weekend. Play the game and winner takes all IMO

Hearing today from a reliable source that Errigal have failed in their appeal in the points scandal with Dungannon. Not often Errigal don't get their way with the county board or relevant authorities so its always nice to see them taken down a peg or 10. Effectively we could win the league with 2 pts against Clonoe tomorrow night, however I'm sure there will be no celebrating done either way until the game the following sunday.

Hopefully all 10,000 of our travelling neighbours got home safely today. Huge crowds in attendance in what was a bit of an anti climax in terms of a spectacle and certainly not what neutrals had hoped to see.... Still 2 vital points on the board and leaves us needing only 2 wins from 3 to potentially win the league. Nice position to be in come this time of year

Just picked out the top 5 teams and their league games left.

Carrickmore
- D' Laughan
- Lmacrory
- Edendork
- Clonoe
- Errigal

Moy
- Errigal
- Donaghmore
- K'clogher
- Edendork

Dromore
- Donaghmore
- Galbally
- Omagh
- Dungannon

Loughmacrory
- Carrickmore
- Pomeroy
- Trillick
- Killyclogher

Clonoe
- C'island
- Omagh
- Carrickmore
- Eglish

All about championship of course but for teams not involved anymore the league offers something to play for and a reward for hard work all year. Should be an interesting run in.

Is it top team wins the league?

Looking at those fixtures, Carrickmore would be big favourites to land the league title provided the squad have that goal. I can't understand why teams undervalue the league. At the start of the year there are only 2 trophies to play for. Moy and Loughmacrory would take your arm off for a division 1 league title. Both would have been seen as relegation candidates at the beginning of the year.

I think it is just top team wins outright this year. With the last league game pencilled in for the week before Xmas they wouldn't have time for playoffs anyway. Hopefully they continue with outright winners going forward - defeats the purpose of being the most consistent/best team in the league if you cant get something at the end of it
