Clonoe basically secured the league Divison 2 league after beragh got well beat by Moy. Things looking tasty in Div 1- a moortown win tomorrow night wouid leave the Fianna bottom with their game with Edendork looking more and more important. Greencastle have the head to head over Fianna however moortown don't so it's vital they get points off an Errigal side who have an eye on championship. Wouid still fancy Coalisland in a playoff with Greencastle however the team coming up will give them bother

No division 2 playoff team will beat the D1 team

I would not be so sure, Coalisland were on the end of a 5 or 6 point hammering yesterday & still tried to blame Cathal Forbes for their sheer lack of indiscipline and fitness. The old guard of mackers, kane, kerr etc all have ran their race and they even had to take their GK out the field and play him at FF with their lack of depth / subs.  Never seen an established D1 team struggle in that way before.  IMO the writing is on the wall for the Fianna (if not this year). It would be a shame as they were always one of the most feared teams on their day.

The Loughmacrory juggernaut has been ground to a halt this evening. Maybe Eglish is the team to beat now?

There may have been suggestions to split Loughmacrory in 2 had that streak went on much longer.. Although after all they were formed after a split from the neighbours.

Good win for Carmen against a dogged (yet poor) Moortown side. Rambo just doing rambo things  ::)

I think Donaghmore name is already on it fellas, albeit it's a long time ago... I agree though with the points.  Loughmacrory are a serious seasoned group, well coached and full of football, as also are, Errigal, Dromore, Dungannon, Carmen, Killyclogher, Trillick, Ardboe, Omagh and Coalisland who would be on everyones lips to win the thing. Don't see that changing anytime soon.
Favourites: Errigal Ciaran
Main Contenders: Dungannon, Trillick and Dromore
Hard to see any winners outside of those four.

Mad take. I'll save this one for October
Who else do you capable outside of the 4? As in string together 4 consecutive wins
Carrickmore for me have to be in the favourites discussion. Id like to hear why you think they shouldn't. Beaten in last years final and won a league two years ago.
A championship run of beating Coalisland (missing three best forwards) Loughmacrory and Clonoe doesn't strike me as genuine outright contenders. They haven't beaten any of the established bigger teams in my eyes to be considered ahead of them.
If I was picking an upset for the championship first round it would most likely be Edendork nipping Carrickmore in my opinion.

A team who were League champions 2021, League Semi Final & Championship runners last year yet Goals_Will_Come reckons they aren't genuine contenders... Last years run may not have been the hardest but the teams all still had to be beat & with the current crop and selection of players I would imagine the target this year is to get back to Healy Park in October and right the wrongs...

Have they brought in new players to replace these guys or will they?
Why do we seem to have this problem more than any other county?

Agree with that, I don't think a change of management would even tempt those players to come back into the setup either.

Mark Bradley, R Brennan, J Munroe, T Mccann (albeit age), E McNabb + a few others all would add serious depth to the existing setup if they were still about - Tyrone's bench at the minute has no game changers with the exception of Ruairi Canavan.

Loughmacrory going well in the senior league, an O'Neill cup beckons in the near future.
Welcome to the board Ciaran, although should your focus not be on Derrys next game vs Donegal?

Any word on potential league start dates or even fixtures announced? Usually the Co. board have league fixtures released a good while before it starts.

Stephen O'Neill in with Carrickmore
Positive appointment IMO. Should help forwards greatly with his experience and know-how

Positive appointment I think.. The men involved in the backroom team seem to have all been involved in the last couple of years as well so they will know the players and their abilities! Hopefully Archie can take the players to another level which the likes of Errigal are at.

Terrible news of another tragedy in the local GAA circles this morning.. Thoughts are with family, friends & teammates at Killyclogher. RIP
