I think there was a football semi final on that weekend.
I remember  having radio 5 live on at the time , start of the new PL  season. Man U v Leicester, 2-2 draw. Beckham equalising in injury time. Strange the things that  stick with you.

Remember the report calling for  any medical people to  come to the hospitals to help with the  injured. First reports was  about 5 or 6 killed. Then as  the day wore on , the death toll  kept mounting.

I was watching BBC NI when the newsflash came on, and on a summer Saturday I would rarely have the TV on.

I'm assuming I just can't  buy a  cow or twenty from a farmer and stick them in  a field?

I'm assuming there's paperwork to fill out  before that happens?

Yes, you need a herd number from DAERA and herdbook to record tags / TB status/ movements / births/ deaths.

Good luck with the new career !

That's sort  of what I was thinking.

But trileacman has  explained how he might have gotten  around  all that.

Sure it's great craic...

Do a course that you know has limited prospects of actually following in a role within that 'sector'. Generate serious debt, plus financial burden on your parents, stress on yourself throughout because you maybe picked the wrong course but stick it out cause you know you might let people down leaving or changing

I'm definitely in the camp of doing a college degree course that is and will lead you into a role within the field of work you wanted

Doing it just to have the craic and experience, friendships but never following through on the area of your course is bollox..

Completely speaking from experience btw

I definitely blame parents (including myself) that allowing them to be 'free' to enjoy, you're only young once blah blah I think will have knock on effects when those sectors are looking people that had been projected to work and fill these roles.

Apprenticeships allow for free qualifications

Apprenticeships, traditionally in the manual labour market are being matched by the professional side, still getting a degree at the end with experience of being in the job.

It's like people who never went to college never had a good time ;D

Can't speak for anyone or anything but what it's in front of my eyes.

In County Down there's 42-44 clubs, depending on what notion a few of them have.

39-42 own their own grounds.

In the same council area (mostly Newry, Mourne and Down), there's about 8-10 soccer clubs own their own grounds.

I wouldn't suggest this is representative of the island of Ireland.

But I kind of have a sense that it's not far off the mark.

You need a herd number to keep any livestock even if it's just one. I think you can keep up to 5 bovines with a basic herd number but beyond that you need a level 3 agriculture diploma or equivalent (year long evening course would get you it). Even without the diploma you are bound by law to adhere to animal welfare and traceability standards.

The farmer in this case had a total ban on being involved with the management of any farm animals. I assume the 51 animals in question were being kept in another persons herd number but being managed by the convicted farmer.

"50 best footballers of the best Championship ever"

By a Frank Roche who must be taking over from Breheny!

I can't read it thank God.

The paper comes out all year round, the GAA does not provide anything to talk about, so they fill the space.
