Landman worth watching?

First season fairly good, second season poor enough but just switch your brain off and it's enjoyable enough. The women are easy on the eye at least .

Very handy on the eye alright.

Couple of episodes in still weighing it up but seems decent without setting the world alight.

Recently signed up to Paramount Plus to watch Mobland.

Is it worth keeping and if so what you recommend watching next?

Stubbornness can also be equated to self belief, an essential trait when trying to achieve what most see as the impossible.

I seem to remember criticism for ETH from some quarters for having no discernable style and abandoning his Ajax principles after quickly realising the enormity of the task at Utd. I'm in no way defending him because his transfers were terrible but this "flapping" was equated to indecisiveness and weakness on his part.

You certainly couldn't accuse Amorim of abandoning his principles. In fact his major criticism is for not doing what ETH did and adjust his style. Although a bit contradictory I think it's fair to accuse him of being too unbending but I will say this in his defence. He made no secret of his style when he came to Utd. No one was under any false impressions. The club head hunted him and even pressured him into coming half a season too early no less. And I'm sure there were many many lofty promises made to him of being given the time and backing to achieve his vision. But the club have obviously since baulked at those promises and he was only recently told they will be reneging. So although he was very unprofessional in how he handled it you can understand his anger and frustration.

I don't know where that leaves the club though or what route they'll go next. But what the hell was the point of hiring Amorim and all the grandiose pronouncements of philosophy and new Utd if they just flap after one window? And what will the next man be thinking upon listening to the latest raft of promises and visions?

Hit the nail on the head there.

ETH was slated for changing his system at United and Amorim was slated for being to rigid in his system.

No matter what you do at united the media and former players and pundits will pile the pressure on you.

The club will continue is this cycle unless they come up with a long term vision and stick through it... Most rebuilds you need to get worse before you get better and ignore the outside noise.

Good game. Right team won, just about. Grange got it back to a point but then quickly conceded 3 to all but wrap it up. Came back time and again. Few of the main Grange lads were either kept out of the game or bettered by their opponents. Ballymacelligot have a serious midfield for a junior team, both in terms of size and football. Kust a little bit more class in a few positions today as well.

Ballymacelligot vs. Clogher should be some scrap.

League means shag all in Kerry though. Anyone in Kerry will tell you that.

Grange firmly mid table in Division 2 in Kildare where it's taken very seriously and have been in several semifinals the last few years.

Two very good junior teams. I'd have Ballymacelligot favourites over Clogher based on today.

True league means feck all in alot of counties... But a junior team comfortable in division 1 is a bit of a anomaly. Think they finished top 4 one year.

So if Littler opens tomorrow with a 180 and GVV with a 100, we can, in all seriousness, talk about how Littler is averaging 80 points more per visit? Or vice versa?

Too small a sample size... There was about 5 sets played at the point of my original post. The standard was crazy good but as it turned out unsustainable.

Sounds like you're arguing for the sake of it.

Littler clearly the better player but Van Veen has shown that he can match his level at Van Veen best. Showing that against Littler is another question.

But as I said Littler probably has another gear just hasn't had to find it yet given how easy his games are.

It was only an observation looking purely at the numbers in front of me at that time never said Anderson or Van Veen are better than Littler.

Simple facts...First few sets they were averaging higher and better % on the doubles than anything Littler has shown this tournament.

Caveat to that is Littler prob has another gear in him if needed given the ease of his games so far.

Standard dropped last few sets though as expected.

Not saying Van Veen will win tomorrow but he has the potential to match Littler at his best. Littler 7-4 would be my prediction.

Littler won a set earlier in the tournament averaging 125 with 11, 12 and 13 darts. The highest single set average tonight was Anderson with 117 in winning set 5

GVV averaged 103 tonight. Littler 105.

Was are of that but I was looking at the overall average at the point in time I sent that message.

Think Van Veen was around 70% on the doubles at that point too.

11/11 on doubles don't think it ever happened before.
