Derry and Antrim are long due a championship game.
The last one was the day before Eamon Coleman died in 2007. It was free entry that day because the previous match was postponed. Loads of people turned up even though they never paid in the original game.

I listen to some metal bands for example Slipknot and Lacuna Coil. I wouldn't call myself a heavy metal fan because I don't listen to those classic bands from the 80's. I also like the sub genre of Nu Metal, I will probably go to see System of a Down next year.

Tyrone must be proud of their Conor Bradley leading the GAWA. There is no London in Tyrone but there is an NI captain in Tyrone. You will have to get the red hand flags up.

Quote from: Substandard on October 02, 2025, 04:53:23 PMOut of curiosity,  if, as Jamie professes, it will be vetoed by the DUP and chums, can it be appealed, and what happens then?  I'm just wondering because with dual language signs across Scotland and Wales, surely it couldn't be left out?  And then does Jamie focus his ire and intellect on the UK justice system or whoever happens to be prime minister of the day?
It's amusing trying to figure him out.

Gaelic signs would be more suitable to have in Ulster than in parts of Scotland where it wasn't spoken widely for example the southern areas that border England. I think you do get Gaelic surnames there but they would have came from the Highland clearances.
I am actually confused as to what the Ulster Protestants were historically. The history books tell us they were Anglo lowlanders yet many of them have Gaelic speaking names like Campbell, McCrea, McAllister, McMillen, McLean.
Apparently some Scots arrived after the plantations to escape famine and also during the Highland clearances. They would have eventually mixed with the Protestant community given that they were Protestant too. Similar to how a Polish person today is more likely to become mixed with the Catholics.

Another confusing thing is how you get Catholics with Scottish names from the gallowglass soldiers. McNeil is a good example of this, then you also get Protestant McNeil's who came after the reformation.

I notice there was a brawl at a Tyrone club game recently. Grass roots GAA men behaving like thugs. There was me thinking club people couldn't possibly be violent. Sure it is only band wagoners who are rowdy on the terraces isn't it?

Always nice to see my point being proven correct.

I find it rich, the same type of butch men who taunt men like me who watch shows like EastEnders are the same men who spend their weekend discussing and watching women's football.

The McKaigue segment on BBC was cringe but not as bad as Niblock's poetry at the start. Niblock trying to be Seamus Heaney.
People like McKaigue and Neil McManus don't have the voice for TV due to their co.Antrim accents.

Also I never know who those celebrity guests are in the box. Maybe I am out of touch with society.

In ancient Greece having a large penis was a sign of being an undesirable thug. This is why the statues of the kings and Gods had smaller penis.

North Derry and West Tyrone interestingly was what the original Tyrone was or Cenel Eoghain. However it is missing it's capital of Inishowen in that map.
That is why they share a religious diocese today because the religious borders were drawn up at that time. East Tyrone is part of the Armagh diocese because it was part of the Airgialla kingdom.

The listing on Setlist FM is a funny read. Saying "first time played since 1996", etc even though they have sang the songs for years in their solo careers. As far as I can see most songs on the setlist have been played on solo tours. Noel playing the guitar and singing backing vocals must be what people are paying to see.

O'Donoghue stayed on the pitch to sign autographs even after the defeat. The same can't be said for some of the Derry players recently. It is easy to sign autographs when you are winning.

It is ironic that they display the union flag on their windows given that it has foreign origins too. The flag would have originated in England. The United Kingdom existed between England and Scotland before Ireland was added to it. I was reading comments on Facebook from Ballymena people saying they will help anyone out if they need any union flags for their windows.
