Obviously delighted to be back in a semi final but were some on this board watching a different game? As poor a standard I've seen in a quarter final in a long time. We've got a mountain of work to do on our attacking structure to compete with Donegal or Armagh- our only idea at times was to have a pop at a 2 pointer.
On a positive note, Daly McElholm and O'Donnell stood up big time in the second half. Trust in the youth

Quote from: Mikhailov on June 21, 2025, 12:01:00 PMDevenney is a woeful referee. One of the worst

Heard last night was laughable but obviously not if you were a Plunkett man - moving frees forward endlessly plus 2 sendings off

I seen him ref a game last year and it was all one way traffic on the pitch, one team cruising to victory and he still made it chaotic. Caused frustration everywhere despite the fact the game was going through the motions to the final whistle.
Yes Devenney is the worst referee in the county. Once he takes a dislike to a team he will do everything in his power to make life hard on them.

There was always a decent chance they'd go back down again this season but I've said before here they'll go straight back up to Division 2 and then to Division 1 not long after with all those good players they have coming through.
Moortown had great underage coming with Minor Grade 1 Doubles and that hasn't translated to them becoming an established Senior team. All depends on how Cookstown handle and manage those players coming through.
It's Cookstown. Most of them won't be playing in about 2 years. Be down the road playing soccer or sitting in a pub

Really sad news coming out of Trillick. Football just a game at the end of the day puts everything into perspective

What's the general feeling about yesterday's result in Coalisland? Maybe do no harm to go down and rebuild with a young team then come back up refreshed?

There's no way Clonoe will be able to hold this crowd tomorrow. Fancy them to win by 2 or 3 after their championship performances

Quote from: Easymoneysniper on October 08, 2024, 11:22:26 AMAn interesting weekends of football, upsets, late drama and some brilliant scores. Just thought I'd give my take on each fixture and how things went.

Greencastle and the moy, interesting is not the word I would use to describe this one, for those that missed it, don't be worrying, you would have been safer watching paint dry. Similar to the previous round Michael conroy contributed nothing from play relying on free kicks to get him in the game, in fairness a few brilliant scores from dead ball but with the exception of that and the goal at the end, this game was as bad an intermediate semi final you will see. Hard to believe the year is 2024 and Sean Cavanagh is still throwing the same shimmy as he did 15 years ago. Talk of reducing the price of admission for the replay to ensure people attend.

Moortown and derrylaughan, moortown played their usual disgusting brand of football with bodies behind the ball at all times. If a team is playing with the wind, why concede the kickout time after time knowing you have to play against the breeze in the second half and haven't look advantage of the wind on the score board? For a manager to be saying in interviews that leagues are only for playing in, I wonder what's going through his head now with their only route of promotion being LEAGUE playoffs. I'm not sure who told Liam Cushanan he could pull of them boots but I think he should give them a good clean and see if pro direct will take them back. Brian kennedy will be hard stopped in the final, with his strength and size he will dominate whatever team progresses on the other side of the draw.

Trillick wiped the floor with Dungannon, was certainly a shock, not for trillick to progress as I mentioned from early on I thought they would win the championship but for them to go out and rip apart a strong Dungannon team, they have left a real marker down in this semi final. The amount of quality in this trillick team is frightening, if darragh canavans injury is serious the final could end in a similar manner to Friday night.

Killyclogher just don't lie down, I'm not sure why they leave themselves with so much work to do, every round it's like they forget they're in a championship match until the last 15 minutes. Nonetheless a great effort from them this year, and only for a brilliant score at the end they could have been awaiting a second rattle at Errigal. Stephen campbell tried is best to get killyclogher another day out, pulling penalty's out of thin air and giving them calls at every chance he got. I think the county board needs to check this man's bet slips because he must of lumped the draw. Unfortunately for him and his bet slips, Petey Harte produced a phenomenal score to win it and it was a very solid performance from the county player. Ruairi Canavan sent Conal McCann to Alchemist for a coffee and a traybake, rumours Pauric treanor took the under 3.5 goals on bet365, hope the payout was worth it for he nearly cost his team the game.

Feels strange to break down a couple games and not have to comment on Gary Gormleys performance, thankfully the county board came to their senses and demoted Gary to linesman for the intermediate semi finals. I was surprised he was given the ladies finals and I'm sure there were a few controversial calls in this game as well.
More of this please!
