The chances of any child rejecting its sex are pretty low. It seems to be an extreme stance for a low risk outcome but with a high probability of later bullying.

Why might that be the case?

Because people are animals & they round on anyone who deviates from the normal.
The father in this case is a far left idiot or libtard. By inflicting his beliefs on his young fella, he is isolating him from the crowd, which will invariably/ unfortunately lead to bullying.

There's so much in this but I do admire your honesty in why bullying would be an issue and it's not so much the kid themselves, it's the societal "norms" that we live in which we are almost accepting of the herd mentality and can't override our base instincts!

Personally speaking I think the father is a bit of an attention seeker, but that's nothing to do with his child and they shouldn't suffer accordingly.

I don't know on this one.

He is an attention seeker, but I guess from his perspective, he's trying to help normalize a marginalized issue and group and feels comfortable doing that.

I'd seriously question the name though. Juniper is almost universally a girl's name. Why stick his kid with that burden when the odds are kid will not have gender identity issues?

Like it or not, as Rudi has pointed out, the kid IS going to have to live in the real world and this fight should not be thrust upon them unasked for, especially at a young age.

There's no reason you can't bring the kid up normally and guide them to be open to whatever or wherever life leads them. But I guess he'd say that's what he's doing by avoiding the traditional pigeonholes. Unfortunately, society pigeonholes everyone, and for many (including here), when it comes to gender there are only male/female/freaky pervert categories.

Because teenagers and kids are conservative by nature. The chances are the kid is straight. They would be more likely to accept a gay kid than a straight kid called Juniper.
If he was going for a gender neutral name he should have went with Whiskey. Who in their right mind would f**k with someone with a name like that. But Juniper, that's easy pickings.

ireland the 4th largest cocaine consumption in the world

https://www.irishtimes.com/crime-law/2023/03/19/irish-people-joint-fourth-highest-consumers-of-cocaine-globally-says-un/

The cocaine use  is frightening to be  honest

It's  reckon ed that cocaine use is  in every  town, village and gaa club  in the country.  When you think about it ,  surely the odds are that  those using it are  all around us.... one of our family members, next door neighbour,; some of our local gaa players , a local teacher  teaching our kids,  the nurse taking  looking after  your elderly relative or doing  your blood test,  taxi driver,  shop assistant,  etc. Mad when you think about it
