Quote from: Duine Inteacht Eile on December 24, 2025, 10:33:18 AMNothing was listed by Ulster GAA.

I listed them.

Anyway....your source?
The money from the Irish government is 100% not gone.
I hear otherwise. The €50m was for getting the Euros in. What is your source?

https://www.breakingnews.ie/ireland/irish-government-stands-by-50m-euro-commitment-to-casement-park-harris-1672155.html

https://www.gov.ie/en/department-of-foreign-affairs/press-releases/statement-from-the-t%C3%A1naiste-on-funding-for-casement-park-announced-as-part-of-the-uk-governments-spending-review/

Your source to the contrary now please.....

OK, I am going to have to partially row back.

The €50m was initially from the Sports capital budget. That is gone with the Euros bid.

The bit I missed was it switched to the peace and love budget instead. Mea culpa.

Always a partitionist undertone with this twat!

Quote from: Brick Tamlin on October 31, 2025, 09:09:26 AMMaybe the wrong thread but hey ho.
If i had planning passed in the north for a glamping pod and i decided to add another meter in length onto the unit when i build the thing, how likely is it that building control/council etc will kick up or come after me.
may sound like a naive question but just wondering. anyone any nightmare stories with this stuff.

Aw I'd be going back to planning tbh. I'd say you can carry on with the build as I dont think they will turn you down. I recently received planning for a single storey extension and I'm going to planning to let them know about a possible 1m overhang.

Agreed

He's downed tools like most do when they get their big contract!

Not even big Sam could save us! The whole thing is shambolic and rotten to the core. Feel sorry for the loyal fans who travel to the games. FAI don't deserve them. Post Delaney should have been a proper reset but this hasn't happened. Off the top of my head things that are a mess:

- Lack of investment in coaching/facilities - horse racing & greyhound racing get more from Irish government. Think I read somewhere they are on a par with Armenia and other minnows for investment.
- Having to rent Aviva - I'm sure that impacts the coffers
- Letting northern talent slip through the net. The FAI could have an academy in Derry. Conor Bradley and the likes should be identified at 11/12 years of age. Look at NI underage teams now. Majority nationalist lads who would no doubt play for Ireland.

Antrim / Re: Antrim Football Thread
July 24, 2025, 01:30:25 PM
When it comes to ulster schools perhaps a start might be getting your best players to Antrim schools? Cargin, Creggan, Moneyglass, Portglenone lads go in big numbers to Magherafelt and Maghera. If Ballymena was set up better they could attract these players. It happened in Tyrone where Trillick/Dromore lads went to Enniskillen. That doesnt seem to happen as much with most now attending Omagh or Ballygawley. Likewise Loughshore boys are now attending Holy Trinity over St Pius. Perhaps just a coincidence or a concerted effort by Tyrone GAA!

Has anyone recently got family health insurance? What sort of monthly outlay?

Appreciate southern posters might have it as part of their job benefits.

Just took a standard basic Benended health plan with the wife.. £16 each a month

Think they have different grades to it but fairly simple to join it

I noticed that one but seems to be a few clauses if based in NI. Vitality seems to be competitive enough at £60 for family

Quote from: tbrick18 on July 16, 2025, 01:48:00 PMSo summer holiday plans have been cancelled as one of the kids broke his wrist at football.
Planning now to head away Halloween week during mid-term. Having not travelled for winter-sun before, any recommendations for a family with a mix of young and teenage kids? Preferably with a bit of heat and that hasn't closed down for the winter.

Got a villa in the Algarve a couple of years ago at that time of year. Had private pool along with pool table and table tennis.
Great weather (27c) and all for dirt cheap.

Also done Algarve in early October 2023. It pissed for most of the week. Its very hit and miss at that time of the year. Tenerife a great spot IMO. Never tried Lanzarote but have heard great things too.

You really have to wonder what the future is for unionism/loyalism. Any unionists i work with, their children all in uni on the 'mainland' with the vast majority not returning. Meanwhile we are left to pick up the tab with these narrow minded bigots. How they are brought into a united Ireland, whether its two federal states or one i do not know.
