Silver in World Games for Boyle Fire Brigade

Boyle Fire Brigade (aka 'Boyle Moone Boys') have just won Silver in the team event at the World Police & Fire games in Belfast!! They put in brilliant performances today. Heaps of congratulations to Darren O'Flaherty, Brendan Davis, Mark McGovern and Tommy Sheridan. All exceeded their best times from earlier in the week!!

Jaysus, I thought you'd be on the ball and be trumpeting Wardie's gold in the light-heavyweight boxing.

Some of us adults have to do real work for a living ;) and at all sorts of hours too.
Well done indeed to the said "Wardie".
Let's hope he and the rest of the County's panels will be gathering in a few football medals over the next few years.
Davy's given us a dream to cling to
We're going to bring home the SAM

Only in Belfast.

Thieves steal 40 beer kegs from WPFG 'friendly games' venue Kegs of beer

They were dubbed the friendliest World Police and Fire Games ever, but at dead of night, thieves caught the coppers off guard.

The robbers stole 40 beer kegs full of beer worth about £6,000.

It happened shortly after midnight on 8 August at the Mary Peters track - a location being used in the WPFG games.

Two days later, at the Dub Lane premises, scene of WPFG rugby battles, thieves took a pop-up gazebo, two generators and a PA system.

Police are investigating the thefts.
