Cassidys glenravel team that won promotion to D1 and I think they lost to the now county champions in the intermediate final, and in my opinion have probably been the best team to have played in D2 over the last 4/5 years both pre  and post league restructuring. After cassidy left, They haven't really progressed as far up D1 as they would have hoped, but they still have a lot of good young players coming through.

Knux took over a paddies team that hadnt won a game in 2 seasons. Brought us to 3 championship  semi finals, boosted our league position  and did a lot of the groundwork which lead to our league win this year. The change in lisburn over 2 years was unbelievable. From relegation certainties, to finishing in top half comfortably both seasons. Beat st Paul's twice in their promotion year and only for a shambolic referee should  have beaten Moneyglass in the championship despite playing  45 minutes down to 14 with a chunk  of that down to 13 men. Moneyglass  scoring 1-2 in injury time to win by 6 put a bit of gloss on the scoreline.

Paddies have been around for 119 years with many ups and downs. Amalgamation with rossa/ St Paul's? For what? A feint hope that in 20/30/40 years Antrim win an all Ireland.  No thanks. How about growing, developing, nurturing the clubs to grow and prosper, not destroying them? Radical. I think St Paul's and rossa people would feel the same. If these 3 clubs were  struggling  for numbers and in danger of folding, it would make sense, but none of them are. History, tradition & identity are very important to us all and I would think merging clubs would be detrimental to overall participation numbers, which benefits nobody.

Tbf it wasn't much of a punch up, but not a good look either way. Have seen the clip of an incident at the fence, i didnt see it at the time. Dont know what caused it. Moneyglass were the better team and deserved the win. We just didn't put in any sort of performance and the shooting from both teams was awful to say the least. The ref was awful,particularly in the first half, but overall he didn't affect the result. Both teams have a lot of work to do if they want to survive in D1-depending on what sort of restructuring will inevitably be coming over the winter.

It would depend on what you would classify as a "big game". If you say a county camogie final, that would be easily  done, a senior hurling or football championship semi final could be a different answer depending on who is in it and a county hurling or football final would be a bit more difficult (in my opinion) and may need some help from our Rossa and St Paul's neighbours In terms of emergency access etc, but I'm a bit biased. The playing surface is up there with the best, and easily better  than the likes of dunsilly and corrigan (again, my biased opinion). Anyway let's hope for a win tomorrow evening!

Sarsfields is a terrible venue for any sort of crowd, can only watch from one side & it's in the middle of an estate. Think of the parking

Many clubs would be glad to have the facilities we have. Parking is an issue for a big crowd, but there are plenty of options such as schools, chapels etc if the need ever arose for a serious crowd. God forbid youd have a 5 minute walk to the ground. I don't know how many would go to a camogie final, but we'd be able to handle it if needed. Terracing on 1 side isn't ideal but it let's us have the 2 smaller pitches for underage games etc for the other 364 days a year. Unfortunately being in the middle of the city limits what us and our neighbours can do, and pitches are at a premium in the city. If you have ever been to the old bear pit pre 1996,what we have now is nirvana in comparison!

Intermediate Final meant to be 7pm in dunsilly on Saturday the 11th

Biggest game of the year for both teams and it's under lights. Neither team has played under this year. Silly if u ask me.



Anyword on junior final?

Think it could be because our camogs are due to play in the junior final too on that day.

Not sure how many dual players they have but Sarsfields will have an IFC semi the following week

It's probably best for us to take the medicine and drop down and rebuild. Some good young lads coming through but it will take time and d3 won't be easily escaped. There aren't too many dual players compared to previous years and its a dead rubber for us. It would make sense not to play the dual players but sometimes it's hard to tell the lads no.

either way is it on LD's new pitch or old pitch?  Old pitch isn't suitable for a QF championship match

The full back (Emmett?) Was first to go. Then I think it was the 7 who got the late red. I think the slabber you refer to was 5 (Jethro?). He was lucky not to get red as he was at it before the ball was thrown in and continued throughout  until he was subbed in the 2nd half. Discipline wasn't great from them, but hard to fault  their resolve and effort, when going a man down. Glenravel will have been relieved to scramble over the line. From any of the prospective candidates to go down, Aldergrove would be favourites for me, as the suspensions could really  hurt them as they didn't appear to have much depth on the bench.

Most results as expected but some tighter than expected. Ballymena out so will be disappointed. Tnn look better than people thought but just two tough games. Glenravel aldergrove looked like it was in the balance until late on.

St endas drawing with moneyglass probably biggest surprise result in intermediate.

Glenravel against aldergrove wasn't a classic. Aldergrove were right in it until injury time and a late goal and 2 points put a bit of gloss on it for glenravel.  Aldergrove got a man sent off in 1st half with 1 glenravel man black carded in the same skirmish.Aldergrove got a 2nd red card a few minutes from time too. Glenravel  have went backwards a lot since they won the intermediate a few years back, aldergrove could be in serious diffs if they end up in the relegation playoffs.

Probably because St Endas have the potential of having a team together for championship. Not too long ago they were preaching about going to win SFC's. They should be well positioned to compete with everyone at Intermediate though still.

The fact Enda's and sars are being asked to play 2 champ games, wed and Sunday is a real disgrace. (Not sure if there are others) just seen they are playing on Sunday after tomorrow night

Lisburn play Wednesday & Saturday as do Glenavy & st Teresa's. A joke, but sure what else would you expect?

Hectic, Sarsfields, moneyglass and St endas are all in the same group along with lisburn and Rasharkin. The other group is the easier side of the draw.
