General discussion / ESB cables over property.
August 09, 2021, 01:59:13 PM
The house attached to me is being renovated and today the ESB arrived to bring a cable from the pole across the road cutting across the corner of my property to connect to the renovated house. I got no notification from the ESB prior to this or the builder. They arent using the old connection that runs under my fascia. Anyone know if I have any rights here. I obviously dont own the airspace. It hasn't gone up as yet. I dont want a power cable running across front of the house.

General discussion / Android Boxes
July 30, 2015, 09:49:46 AM
Hi, Thinking of getting an Android box. Anyone have any experience of these and may be able to point me in the right direction. Do they have all the boxsets? Can you get the premiership on them through streaming etc?
are they better than getting Netflix?
Cheers

Hi. I'm currently selling a car through carzone. Was contacted today from a person who is currently abroad. He has viewed car on net said he is happy and wants to pay via PayPal then once all I'd cleared arrange for its collection and sending it to him in Ukraine?   He wants my PayPal details. I don't have a PayPal account but could set one up. Does this sound legit.?  Is PayPal crime proof?  If he hadn't mentioned shipping it to Ukraine I Prob wouldn't be suspicious. Any thoughts or experience of PayPal appreciated.

General discussion / Fallen Tree
December 19, 2013, 12:05:54 PM
Lads had a tree blown over into the garden last night. Not a massive tree but big enough. Any idea if its worth much for fire wood.
Its a decent size. Neighbour offered to cut it up and take it away . remove remaining stump and mend fence for nothing. Just really wondering how much the timber is worth and is he giving me a good deal.
No interest in burning it myself.

General discussion / Lights issue in house
January 25, 2013, 05:16:27 PM
Hi all any sparks on here. I have an issue with 3 rooms in the house. i could go to turn the lights on in 1 and nothing happens this will be same for all 3, then an hour later i could try and they would come back.
1 room is the bathroom which has down lights and of the 3 it is closest to the mains and fuse box. the other 2 are bedrooms, the sockets arent affected neither is the electric shower.

Is it possible one of the switches is faulty and shorting all 3 or could it be more serious?

i would like to see if i could maybe fix it first before calling a spark in Dublin who would probably charge me a call out of 80 euro before even looking at it.

Good to see the Leinster council have a bit of sense unlike their idiot
counterparts in Ulster who refuse to change Armagh v Down match. Some sort of siege mentality by the Ulster board, how dare the spectators want to also see the Champions league final.

Offaly's Leinster SFC first round game against Wexford on Saturday, May 28 has been brought forward to avoid a clash with the Champions League final.

Originally scheduled to throw in at 7pm in Tullamore's O'Connor Park, the game will now get underway at 5pm, meaning supporters will also be able to catch the big soccer final between Barcelona and Manchester United, which is being shown on several TV channels at 7.45pm.

GAA Discussion / Downs Division 1 Fixtures 2011
October 01, 2010, 10:59:56 AM
Feb 6th  Mayo v Down
Feb 20th  Down v Galway
Feb 26th  Down v Armagh
Mar 13th  Cork v Down
Mar 19th  Down v Monaghan
Apr 2nd Dublin v Down
Apr 10th  Kerry v Down

Some amount of petrol will be burned up for these games.
Couldnt get 4 tougher away ties.
It will be a great learning curve for the boys. Hopefully get enough to stay up.
Armagh wont be happy having to come to Newry for second year in a row.

Was at Tullamore tonight, terraces 20 euro stand 25 euro.
Who regulates these prices for qualifier games. Is there not a set price that the gaa set out at start of season or do each county board make up their own prices, if so im not surprised Tullamore is such a nice ground by the admissionprices.
It really left a bad taste being charged so much in to a qualifier to watch a game played by amateur footballers.
I have been at premier league games and paid less.
No wonder crowds are so poor this year.
Admission prices are turning more people away than the fact that so many games are now on tv.
