General discussion / Re: Dogs kick ass, cats are just evil!

Where I am in England the place is swarming with pitbull type dogs the last few months. Go through a public park and you are almost guaranteed to see one with the owner barely able to hold it straining on the lead. I think they should be clamped down upon (maybe special license needed to breed/own or enforce what is already there?) but unfortunately it will take a few child deaths for people to sit up and take notice. Is there much of this in Ireland at the minute?
No need for that breed of dog. Should be fined if it's not muzzled.  I actually thought they were on a restricted list. It's obviously not monitored

Cats usually dig a hole and then cover it up again. I have a dog and 2 cats. The cats are no bother at all. Feed them and they head off and shit in someone else's garden. ;D  I know people put full water bottles in the garden to deter foxes  might work with cats also.

France smashed Holland 4-0 tonight. Kelleher or Bazuna is going to have a busy night next week
That's interesting. Everybody thought there were 2 runaway leaders in the group.
There prob still is. Just 1 is miles ahead of the other. Be jars to see ireland beating Holland never mind the French.

I have seen a couple of Gaa ones, and I think it was from shoot jersey but definitely fake and I thought they looked decent quality.
Could you tell they were fake by looking at them or were you told? This one you would know the red is different.  The soccer ones it's nearly impossible to tell.  I suppose for 20 quid what would you expect . I'm just using the quality of the soccer ones as a yard stick.

Anyone ever order the GAA jerseys from them? Got q Down one and it's very poor quality ( like the team :( )  the red is terrible as is the material. Soccer ones are usually excellent. Gaa ones not so good. Just wondering anyone else same experience

I wouldn't give us much hope of beating a seasoned div 1 team regardless if they're relegated this weekend. We are div 3 for a reason and still will be next year. We've a long way to go . The McKenna cup built false hope on the squad. They were just much fitter than the other teams played. But a crack at the Tailteann is more than achievable. A few years away yet.

Keeper pretty poor for  both goals also

The U20 game being a Wed night in Omagh isn't ideal for supporters. But it may be on tg4 youtube. Unfortunately Ulster and Munster U20 are straight knockout. Beating tyrone in their own backyard a youth ask. They are the yardstick so a good performance is required.

Sometimes we look no different from other years. Still afraid to take a shot at the posts from distance. Longford scored some magnificent points from distance last night. Dreadful injury not really sure what happened. Did he land badly. Championship 6 weeks away it's a big ask for this team to get past Donegal

I was in Newry last night. Longford took some magnificent scores. I wish Down had that in their locker. It was a very tough Division. Most teams not that far off eachother bar Cavan.  Should be an Interesting Tailteann Cup.

Serious performances by Omagh in the semi and final...winning by 18 and 17 points respectively. Almost a pity it was so one sided as the atmosphere never really got going in Croker. Great achievement for my own club having 3 players on the 15 one being the captain with 2-5 from play and another being man of the match.

Any one of 4 or 5 schools in Ulster could have made a great cracking at winning today. Standard very high across the province this year.

Surely a good few inter county players come from that side. Serious talents with serious attitudes

Doubt it. Schools football hugely over rated. Be doing well to get 5/6 top club players from any school side. Hogan winners or not!
From the St Colmans Newry side that won 2 hogans in 10 and 11 AFAIK Caolan Mooney, Jerome and Ryan Johnston, Niall McParland, Niall Donnelly, Donal O'Hare and Ross McGarry. There were others on that team that played for Armagh so I'm not sure if any of them went on to play at senior level with Armagh. Honourable mention to Shay McCartan who went on to play professional soccer across the water

How many of them would you call established county players? I wouldn't say one! And that includes Mooney. Maghera had numerous sides that won and reached Hogan finals over 3 or 4 years. Conor Glass and Shane McGuigan the only two to really come through to play at a high level.
Mooneys been playing every year bar the years he's had bad injuries since he was a minor. Donal OHare was consistently our top forward for the best part of 5 years. Jerome and Ryan have been established for a long time as well
Saying colleges football is seriously overrated bacuse few make county teams is like saying Minor football is also overrated. I've seen many an entertaining game in colleges football.  How many of the great St Colmans and Maghera sides in mid to late 80s went on to play for their counties? and win Sam.

Casemiro cost utd today. Stupid tackle. Hard to win a game playing for an hour with a man less. Good point in the end.

If every player was willing to commit in the county, realistically how many players would get in the 15 that isn't on the county panel now
All of these would be in with a good shout of the team. 2 Guinness And McGeogh from Carryduff', Quinn from Mayobridge, Dabs and possibly Ward from Kilcoo,
And is there a reason they aren't iin the panel? Is Quinn travelling? Injuries or any other reason keeping the rest out? So pretty much the best players in the county are making themselves available?  Will Mooney be available when back from injury or has he retired from county?

Give the management team a chance. MeGeeney took a while to get Armagh where they are now. Down are a work in progress and will be for a few years. Same with Derry.
