Quote from: bennydorano on October 08, 2026, 09:14:04 AMI really enjoyed Blue Lights. There was a bit of discussion about the attitude to Touts in the show on our sofa tho.
There is only *one* attitude towards touts  ;)

Quote from: Would ye whist on October 07, 2026, 04:21:15 PMI did try having a civil word with him about the dog and it turned into him accusing me of threatening him, to him abusing me and calling me all sorts of names, unfortunately this guy is similar to a small Austrian dictator who started mayhem, being civil doesn't as he is always right

Quote from: Would ye whist on October 07, 2026, 03:51:59 PMI do not think I can leave it, he boils my piss, it took all I had to not throttle him when I seen him out in the garden the other day, also he has started doing this sarcastic waving when he passes in the car, wouldn't be brave enough to try and speak out of the car however

Quote from: DaleCooper on October 07, 2026, 11:22:14 AMI did say escalate but tbh its not a good idea. If someone is being that petty then theres potential for severe over reaction.

Dont feed the troll.
Have you spoken to him about the bus scenario and how much extra hassle it is for you which trumps any impact to the tarmac you paid for. I'd try having a man to man chat with him about and the inconvenience it is causing, especially coming into winter months.
Fair enough. Get the diesel can out!

Quote from: Deerstalker on October 06, 2026, 09:57:36 PMBenny Ward Derry & Lavey, early 50s maybe ? Very sad. He was a tough character. Couldn't see it mentioned anywhere else

When was DS, what happened?

Hadn't heard that one and it has shocked me, great lad

Just yesterday NAG1, he had cancer apparently and unfortunately didn't have it that long, an aggressive one.

RIP Benny. Sound lad I'd the privilege of playing with at UUJ and have worked with him on and off for 15 odd years.

He'd pancreatic cancer, diagnosed about June time, sad news for Stella and the three kids and the Ward family.
There's no good cancer but pancreatic is up there with the worst in terms of outcome. Poor fella was no age too.

Quote from: Orior on October 06, 2026, 08:43:28 PMI need this type of info for a similar project.

1. Has the route been finalised?
2. Has compensation for landowners already been agreed?
3. Is there a standard rate?
Fairly sure there is no standard CPO rate per acre as it was previously stated individual pieces of land would be priced based on the quality of the land. I'm hoping that process is already done as that'll add another few years onto the project!

Quote from: Armamike on October 06, 2026, 12:28:37 PMThe OO etc have been very vocal about taking the high ground on the rule of law.  It would mean them contradicting themselves if they didn't accept a new legal ruling.
They would say that if Michelle O'Neill and the Garvaghy Residents weren't prepared to obey the determination and rule of law why should the OO. It's an easy argument for them.

Where does the appeal process end? Is it only the Supreme Court can say enough is enough and let it proceed, or alternatively bury the entire project?

All episodes available to stream?
Yes on the iPlayer. Have watched 4 out of 6. I still find parts of it a bit lame* but overall it's a decent watch and much better than the usual local stuff.

*The "riot" scenes outside the immigrant welcome centre were rubbish but will put that down to budgetary constraints.

Quote from: trileacman on October 05, 2026, 05:21:28 PMTalk of Jack Willis playing for Ireland. I know rugbys residency rule is an absolute joke but this would take the piss completely.
It is not about residency, his grandfather was from Ireland

It would certainly make the blazers in England take another look at their domestic league eligibility rules. It's crazy that you can be one of the best players in the world, playing in one of the best teams, but can't play for your country.

Quote from: Wildweasel74 on October 05, 2026, 07:30:56 PMThats a bad look outside the court today, nobody should have to listen to that crap. I dont like her, maybe more than that, but theres a level to dislike and all the crap about here apperance and thin look needs dropped.
100%. I'd like to see the wasters shouting that shite. If you are a grown man attacking a woman on the streets for her appearance (which she can't help) then you are an embarrassing lowlife. She is a cnut, but there is no need for that.

Quote from: ONeill on October 04, 2026, 11:27:03 PMYou'd imagine you've seen most things to work out how this pans out, but I've no idea how this ends.

A legal ruling in favour of the GR will probably see the OO abandon current principles and stage their own protest in some form.

Jamie's reputation (in his head) is on the line too.
I've been trying to work this one out too.

Is it a PR disaster for the OO and Bryson because they have (so far) failed to get 35 down the road and in doing so have mobilised a dormant nationalist movement?

Or is it a win for Bryson and his handlers as it has stirred up a culture war he has recently written a book about?

Now tell me what that cranberry post was about 😆

It's a reference to the Departed.
What movie were you watching that brought you to w**king over Nathan Carter (5 years old in 1995) whilst wearing stonewashed jeans?
