QuoteAs one of the suckers who has row ZZ tickets to one of the group games and who will be forced to pay this, I'm in two minds. If the costs are really that high for an already struggling transit system, why should they be borne by the NJ taxpayer? I would have considered driving, but the stadium car parking is closed for the games. The only way to get most people in and out of NYC to the games is through NJ Transit trains and buses. There are no footpaths to allow walking in from surrounding towns.

The obvious question though is what is different about these events to Giants/Jets games and the summer European soccer friendlies and stadium concerts?

What is different?

FIFA has evolved from an organisation that greased its own members palms in an underhand, sneaky way, into a neoliberal cartel that quite openly abuses and profiteers every privilege bestowed on it by its forefathers.

Gianni Infantino is the devil incarnate.
Well put

Unfortunately when the  action starts, most people seem  to forget these things.  And if Ireland had qualified, thousands of Irish would have travelled , spending  ridiculous amounts of money to  support the team.

We are  all being conned, swindled and  shafted, and we accept  it. We'll  be glued to it , and we know it.

So we continue to vote the same people in, we keep getting the same results and still complain about how things are!

Bad, bad day. For all our fancy ball drills before the game, Carlow's handling was far better, and they were well able to take on their man too. Things only happened in the forwards for us when Picky came on at half-time, and defensively - three of those goals were poor and we gave away too many frees. Now, I know there were plenty of them on the soft - or even mysterious - side, but still, after we got level, Carlow pointed three placed balls in a row to completely take the wind out of our sails. Not sure how Mossy stayed on, either...

I know we've been hurling at a low level, but we have seriously regressed. Hard to see a trip to Croker this year.

Jesus! Barnet play Man Utd! At their ground.

Antrim played well for the standard we are at, one's questioning our fitness? That's the difference between the top teams and the bottom teams, our physicality is also not the same..

Failures at some level? Go on? I'd like to hear them.. it's a lopsided competition that's the first one, expecting miracles, considering the gulf between these teams is is a fantasy, but hey ho people will look to be annoyed.

We have been streets ahead of Down underage though so it's not as if we can say "yeah saw this coming down the tracks".

Maybe just the dog days of an atrocious appointment.

Quote from: Ryan O on April 18, 2026, 10:47:36 PMDoes anyone know why we keep posting about Limavady United? Are Coleraine going to get a mention? Magherafelt Sky blues. Maghera Strollers, Draperstown Celtic.

Or heres an option, stick to GAA!!

Exactly my point, Limavady United get more mentions than the Wolfhounds! Soccer is a massive challenge for the GAA club in the town, a town which the county needs to start pulling its weight for the greater good of North Derry GAA
