Spend half an hour on the motorway on the way to galway

Maybe on a bicycle! Kinnegad to Athlone would take half that. And a lot of that drive is spent looking in to Offaly so it's partly spoilt.

I thought that Westmeath team were highly fancied? How many Dublin minors of last year on that team?

Ah not really, it was last year that Westmeath had their best chance. Travelled more in hope tonight.

Westmeath gave it their best and tackled with great intensity but the Dubs were just too good. Their physical conditioning is way advanced to Westmeaths. Kilkenny is a super player.

When it comes to Heslin I'm sure Dublin won't be stupid enough to do what they did for the whole second half of the 2010 final. That is, kick every kickout straight down his throat.

I don't think there is a thread on this yet. 2 semi finals on tonight. Westmeath team to play Dublin:

1.  Eoin Carberry
2.  Kieran Sharidan
3.  Davy Gavin
4.  Stephen Gilmore
5.  Darren Malynn
6.  Ben Moran
7.  Kevin Maguire
8.  Trevor English
9.  Alan Stone
10. Ger Egan
11. Kelvin Reilly
12. Jamie Gonoud
13. Seanie Daly
14. John Heslin
15. Callum McCormack

Would seriously doubt that Heslin will line out at full forward. He will be needed at midfield and McCormack is well able to lead the line by himself anyway. Would be happy for any of the 3 lads in the fullback line to pick up Kilkenny, they are all tight markers. He is gonna take some watching though. Moran is the perfect man to pick up Sweeney.

I know, He's been earmarked for special attention for years and manages to still make space and score, that doesn't take away from the fact that Cross won't have one of their best defenders on him. I still think, my opinion having seen Cross (to our loss) a few times they manage to snuff out the main players for long periods of the game.

Has Garrycastle got a big full forward who can catch ball?

Gary Dolan would catch ball with the best of them, but Garrycastle don't play that way. If Dessie isn't seeing any ball he will drop to centre forward. In their drawn county final Garrycastle got cleaned at midfield, Dessie dropped to centre forward and kicked 6 points on limited ball.

Where do you all do you bets? bookies or online? my local bookies odds are pretty pish so what site would be the best option?

cheers Shark. already have a William Hill acc but been told it's not the greatest. bet fair looks decent. any one in particular you would recommend to set up and use as my primary site?

I have accounts with about 10 different websites. When I have a bet I want to make I check to see who is offering the best odds for that particular bet. Simple as. I don't gamble often but when I do it tends to be a sizeable bet so small difference in odds can lead to very different returns.

Is that not because they take people in just to play football, they put them into part-time courses just so they are registered with the college to play football? am i wrong there ?

Partly. They are all doing full time courses. They do target top players, but they are all then enrolled in full time courses.

What is the trench cup? I assume its a step down from the sigerson. Any specific age levels? What HE colleges participate?

Trench is effectively the intermediate competition, if you consider the Sigerson as the senior and Corn na McLeinn as the junior.

Who won the Trench?

Trinity won comfortably. From a Westmeath point of view great to see Kieran Gavin lift the Sigerson. His brother Davy also on the panel. And also well done to Daragh Daly, Trevor English and Conor O'Donoghue on their Trench Cup win

DCU very casual. If they up the intensity they should pull away. Strong wind at their backs for second half.
