That was impressive by AJ. Man has found his mojo again.

You'd already know all the big stories from the news (Iran-Contra scandal, Reagan's "October Surprise" hostage release story), but the story begins with a murdered writer who was piecing this all together, having started with a mere software theft story.  It's amazing stuff.

Is it a documentary or docu-drama?

Quote from: NotedObserver on February 28, 2024, 05:12:36 PMWould Derry have taken him back if this happened earlier?

Yes I would think they would as they seemed desperate to hold on to him despite the public allegations.

I think the comparison with Paddy Jackson is bang on. RG had his own court case albeit more private and the outcome was inconclusive as his wife didn't turn up which left RG off the hook. I think most clubs and counties wouldn't touch him now but there will be a few who will, no doubt.
He was suspended within 2/3 days of the original posts as far as I recall and that was made permanent within another week or so - hardly reeks of desperation.

I believe her post was on the 9th of May and he stepped down on the 15th. Given the attention it was getting at the time, it seemed like an eternity and Derry GAA didn't cover themselves in glory.

So is the new Walking Dead. The Negan one was shit too and the Daryl one was just about average.

Quote from: Snapchap on February 22, 2024, 12:08:36 AMA few who wound be very well known but maybe neither "loved" nor disliked (Sam Neill? Darren Clarke? Paul Brady?)

Dennis Taylor is famous and I think generally well liked.

Bernadette Devlin would surely tick both boxes though.

Lol, was reading through this and had Neill and Ckarke in my head before seeing your post. Is Paul Brady really well known? I doubt the majority of his hometown would even know who he is.

Hugo Duncan would be up there too unfortunately.

Season 1 of True Detective was slow for the first 3 or 4 episodes. Ended brilliantly. Season 2 and 3 were OK as was 4.

Kin is decent but nowhere near Love/Hate standard.

Shaw very unreliable. Need a new left back and centre back or two.

Is it any worse than the zillions of bus trips down South that stags, Kilmacud 7s etc go on?

Band of Brothers was good but definitely overrated. Masters of the Air has been very enjoyable so far.

Quote from: Cunny Funt on February 14, 2024, 05:37:01 PMFinally got around to watching Wonka the other night. A good family watch the best of these flicks since the classic 70s film and Timothée Chalamet was the best IMO doing the Wonka role since Gene Wilder.

Has there not only been one other playing Wonka in that time?

Tyrone / Re: Tyrone County Football and Hurling

Spot on. Tyrone ditched Harte therefore he is entitled to have a career elsewhere and will want to win to prove a point.

Quote from: square_ball on February 03, 2024, 11:13:56 AMIf it had have been say a muscle injury and it was a few weeks ago I think you can make the accusation that he was ducking this one. But it did look pretty bad in the pictures. From the talk this morning it could be October time at the earliest before this fight happens.

However there is always a tweet that gets pulled from the archives ;D

I take it that was the Haye Hrgovic incident.
