No, that was an average wc not helped by the yankie pricing and trump interfering.  I think ths is the way football is going though.  All about the money

Do you really think that if Feancd and England got to the final it would have been 6-4.  Enough said

Must be some sort of wind up but I'll bite anyway.
England have the best attack between the 3 remaining teams?  None of them have been that good tbh.
Yep the defence is poor in comparison to Spain.  Argentina defence is just ok
Messi v Rice, lol.  Many have tried and I'm sure that includes much better players than Deckan Rice but granted Messi is getting on a bit.
I think sone people get taken in by the press.  If Spain produce what they produced last night, neither of tonight's teams will get anywhere near them

Quote from: weareros on July 12, 2026, 03:35:12 AMRight to reverse yellow. But harsh red to Swiss. VAR wants an Argentina-Eng semi.
Harsh how?

I've yet to see a yellow for dives by the top teams. Swiss were on top until that moment. Ref was only required to remove Argentina's yellow. If Swiss is getting a yellow then every dive should get a yellow. Harry Kane would be on 3 or 4 yellows by now.
Damned if they pull it up, damned if they don't.

It was a blatant and extreme dive that was correctly pulled. Just because other refs missed dives, and none have missed this obvious a one, this should have been waved through?

Unfortunately diving can be a bit grey as any contact at all can take someone down and no one is ever going to know really.
That Swiss fella on sat night had clearly no contact so the yellow was 100%  Should up that shite to a straight red to try and stamp it out.  We'll done referee

Its harsh but there was a jersey pull and he stood on his foot so technically its the right decision

Nah not for me sorry. How far away from the nets like. Went down so easy tho didn't see the standing on foot tbh

Anyways, no doubt about that one. Overall prob would've preferred the argies to win to set up some big tussles down the line but fair play to egypt

Yep, some very poor decisions there.  If they're disallowing the Egypt goal for that then they could just as easily have given them a penalty or two.  Big teams getting the decisions again.
Delighted to see the Argies go through though as the Brits would have cruised to the final.  Argies need to buck up their ideas a bit

So they're admitting he git a touch but saying its still a penalty.  Dont understand that.  Back in the day, ye get a touch, its a good tackle

Am I missing something or was there not an angle that showed the defender getting a touch on the ball for the penalty?

Quote from: An Watcher on July 05, 2026, 10:43:30 AMOn the back of this, can someone explain to me how FIFA have never brought in bookings retrospectively for diving?  I know there are grey areas but blatant ones should be dealt with afterwards.
Where does that stop? Retrospective hand balls?

At some point the referee has to be let referee. If he decides something isn't a booking then it isn't.

Can retrospective red cards be issued?

Well its making the game unwatchable so i think they need to do something

Maybe if Scotland had employed some of Paraguays tactics they wouldn't be sitting watching the second round st home.  Paraguay were just right

Game is at fecking 1am Monday Morning / Sunday night though. Not ideal. Hard not to stay up for that one though.

If they were playing like the French then fair enough but 8 minutes of highlights on Monday morning is more than enough for me.  Tbh, those highlights are great for every soccer match
