Should Galway prevail over Down and the other 3 fancied counties go through, i think the players left standing for Galway would likely be meeting Monaghan in the quarters.
Down are evidently progressing. In the latter part of the 2nd half v Monaghan they were responding in kind, on the attack just 2 points behind and they get pulled up by the ref for a costly 2 point infringement. Nothing went right for Down in the last 1/4 except the gifted free awarded for O'Toole's non-foul, whereas everything else went right for Monaghan. IMO it could easily have been a one point game which could have gone either way.

Why do you think the theoretical quarter final would be Galway versus Monaghan?

Meath v Donegal (who have already played Monaghan and Tyrone)
Galway have already played Dublin
therefore Monaghan v Galway
and Dublin v Tyrone

Are there any other possibilities should the fancied 4 go through?

Though I fancy Down have the wherewithal to pull off an upset against Galway.

So much to like about that Down team. It's a pity they got relegated they've real potential to stay at the top table.

There is alot to like about them young Burns has been a big upgrade in goals and Havern and Murdock are quality.  Magill seems to have really kicked on this year also. Panel depth would be a concern for them. 

For me he is the big difference, being able to secure primary possession is huge under the new rules and Burns' kick outs give you that - also takes the pressure of Murdock round the middle that instead of raining every kick out down on top of him you can look to him as an out ball where the 'short' (direct) kick isn't on.

Are the stand tickets sold out for next Saturday's game? Or am I not using the Ticketmaster site correctly....

Sold out - I would imagine the proximity to Louth has a big bearing on that!

Got the garden sown couple of weeks ago, need to sort a lawnmower now.

Garden is 0.3 of an acre & a decent slope linking 2 sections of it. Wondering whether best to go with a robot or a ride on & what I would need to be considering on both considering size & slope (need to work out the grade).

If there was get a local handyman to cut it for the first few times as you'd ruin a good lawnmower on it. 

I like the idea of a robot, but it doesn't look as good as when you get the lines from a proper cut.

There'd be a few stone on the bank but I must have raked 10T of stones of it!! I'll give it a roll before the 1st cut...good call on the handyman.

Hard to get good info on the robots as whoever you're talking to is generally trying to sell whatever they're the agent for.

First-come first-served for Armagh season ticket holders. it doesn't say how many are available; 500 would be quite different from 2000.

I am aware that legal proceedings have been threatened if refunds on season tickets aren't offered. So things may change by next week.

Threatened by whom? Where were these litigious individuals last year in Eniskillen when there were a total of 7,000 in attendance (bearing in mind there would have been a Fermanagh contingent in attendance)? Surely this nonsense is embarrassing for any right-minded Armagh supporters.

Down playing very well. Was a savage game, 2 teams out of it gassed last 10 mins after emptying the tank before that. Down had a nailed on 2 pointer waved wide late on

I was perfectly in line with it and felt it was over the post.

Any idea why the 13m free was given to Cavan in front of the posts in the last few minutes having awarded R McEvoy the free in the first instance, very unlucky not to get a result in spite of the decisions against us I felt.

Whilst it is not officially required that rules be introduced at u12, we see this age as good opportunity to introduce some of their more basic and manageable principles. It is important that we do not detach our juvenile games completely from what our young players watch their County heroes playing in Pairc Esler or on the TV. We would recommend therefore that the following elements of the new FRC rules be introduced at u12 level in 2025;
• 1 v 1 throw-in
• Solo & Go (at u12 level, the Solo & Go may only be utilised when a player is fouled whilst in possession of the ball (physical fouls only). Solo & Go can only be taken by the player who was initially fouled.
• Dissent – Punishable by a 20m advancement

U14 Football:
We would recommend that the following elements of the new FRC rules be introduced at u14
level in 2025;
• 1 v 1 throw-in
• Solo & Go (full implantation)
• Goalkeeper Rule (full implementation)
• New Scoring System (2 points outside 40m arc)
• Dissent - 50m penalty
• 3 v 3 Structure at 15-a-side
• 2 v 2 Structure at 13-a-side

U14 Kickouts:
We would recommend that the following variation of the FRC Kickout Rule be adopted at u14
Level in both League and Championships moving forward:
• Kickouts may be taken from the ground or out of the hands, from the 21m line.
• Players on both teams can position themselves anywhere on the field of play but must remain at least 13m from the player hitting the kickout.
• Any player on the team taking the kickout, wanting to gain possession of the ball directly from the kickout, must be outside the 40m arc, when the ball is kicked (players may move into the arc to gain possession of the ball once the ball is kicked).
• Players from the opposing team may position themselves inside the 40m arc and win possession of the ball.
• Where a team nominate an outfield player to hit the kickout, the player wearing the Goalkeeper jersey must remain inside the small rectangle. This player cannot receive the ball.

U16 & U18 Football:
We would recommend that the following elements of the new FRC rules be introduced at u16
& U18 level in 2025;
• Full Engagement with all aspects of the new FRC Rules
• 3 v 3 Structure at 15-a-side
• 2 v 2 Structure at 13-a-side
Ulster Schools GAA have confirmed to us that they will NOT be implementing the new FRC rules in any of their competitions across the remainder of the 24/25 academic year. We acknowledge that this may cause slight confusion for players playing club and schools football simultaneously, but it will only be for a small window as most of the Ulster Schools competitions will be concluded by Easter

The kickouts could just clear the arc but attackers running onto the ball as it fell made them too easy to intercept inside. Ref couldn't apply common sense as defence never got their hands on the ball. Defenders in the arc means you are out numbered trying to win the kickout I think it would make it much harder for keeper to get ball away. A small sample but it was not an enhancement to the game and puts a lot of pressure on a goalie. Where's best for parking Rossfan?

Watching the club matches at present I have myself convinced that the issue is less about the rues and more about competition structures, when 2 teams of equal quality meet it more often that not results in a watchable/entertaining game (in my opinion), similarly at inter county I believe from an overall competition perspective the league provides a greater level of entertainment. Not saying that there isn't merit is some of those rules - tap and go / discipline related rules etc - but I am worried that they may make a farce of this years competitions.

If you're into recovery- get a light jog, lake/sea dip, plenty of rest/sleep and lots of high protein food into you. The latter 2 being most important.

We don't want that sort of sensible talk in here! Just discussion on expensive gadgets to waste money on. Best turbo trainers? Some big money ones out there. 

And...best reasonable (I realise that's subjective) turbo trainer, for a runner who has a bike and would like to do a day a week on it over the winter.

I'd be a runner and got a really good one for about 400 quid during lockdown. I am trying to find details and will post if I can.

There are a few places doing Tacx Flux S for £399, think normally over the 550 mark. Sigma sports is one, tredz as well i think
