David McKeown

I thought Armagh did a great job on him in the 2024 semi final and they did it by cutting the ball into him. If he gets even half way decent ball he's unplayable.

Meath did a good job on him last year in the round robin stage too if I remember correctly

When people mention e.g. Connolly as someone in Clifford's class, I'm led to wonder whether a) they're just continuing a conversation and throwing names out there to see what others think, b) they're wind up merchants, or c) they're mental.

It's not a subjective discussion anymore. David is, by a visible distance, the best player of my lifetime.

Didnt say Dermo was better but he had to potential to be not far off with some of the things he could do.

Clifford does it every day he goes out though so theres no question that he is the best.

Throwing out names.... ;D That would definitely work if you controlled people's opinions, but you don't, they do

Whilst , imo Clifford is the best there has ever been, he has a group of players not that far behind him regarding skill levels, the likes of Murphy, Walsh, Connolly, Fitzgerald,Gooch, Canavan...

Wildweasel74

There a fair bit behind him, Connor was the best previous player i seen, and i admit now, Clifford by him.

Who would have below Clifford as best to have played

Fenton would be in that bracket as well but obviously comparing apples and oranges there.

If you're talking purely about skill, i.e. talent and ability, I don't think it's in any way outlandish to say Connolly could do anything and everything with a ball that Clifford can. Same for a few others over a years.

The difference with Clifford is how he turns skill and an awful lot more (physicality, finishing, desire etc) into an overall end product that is better than anyone.

See Niblock has a full video on facebook of Clifford every move on Sunday. Getting abit silly.

Fair play to Clifford he comes across as a lovely down to earth fella in spite of all the media hype.
