Can't really complain, caught the lad with a shoulder to the head right in front of the ref, I'd have gave a yellow but red justified.

Shame as it was some game up to now.

I don't think it was even mistimed to me he knew exactly what he was doing. Probably hoping he'd get away with it but as clear as day red as you'll see for me. He knew he'd been caught too and tried to get away as quick as he could.

Think red was justified. Referee harsh on Longford in this half on the frees. Could had a couple frees and harsh ones given against.

Carlow by far better team. Goalie mistakes kept Longford in game.

What time is Down and Wexford throwing in at? I hope Carlow will be given time to celebrate. I see they have the bench already for D3 final.

Carlow should stay on the field and soak it all in. Doesn't come around too often, enjoy it!!

Absolutely. Think that their first National league since winning All Ireland B title in 1994.

Good old game. Good battling football. Carlow could have had another goal at least.

Great to see them win!

Red  card finished the game really. Shame, as  I was enjoying it.

Immediately thought of Tadgh  Kennelly , who unlike the Longford lad,  did  go in to deliberately take  the  man out.  Did  Kennelly even get a yellow that time?

That's exactly what it reminded me of although I think both times the offender was as trying to take out the fouled player

Disappointed, of course, but we played better than other games this year. Carlow goalie did give us the 2 lifelines that kept us in the game but we never looked like winning it.

I thought red card was harsh from where we were. Of course we saw no replays on the big screen.

But Carlow deserved it and should have won in normal time with the possession they had. Good luck to them.

This 'big time' experience will surely bring Longford on and may bring the crowd back. Of late, the attendances at Longford matches has been shockingly poor. We have our beloved neighbours in the Leinster on the 12th in Longford so I hope we get a good crowd. Westmeath will, of course, be favourites, but that hasn't stopped us before.
