Over at Swatragh Ballinderry the nite, good game in awful weather. Swatragh missed a bagful of points, McWilliams bck playing after a long time out, passing and score taking stands out, He gets up to fitness he be a big player for Derry nxt yr. Swatragh made a bad mistake, took him of 15mins to go, then missed 2 2pter free he would have scored. Ballinderry also got a point 0.5m wide, ref was on the wrong side to see it, swatragh umpire give it which was correct, but relied on the older Ballinderry gent behind the middle of the goal who gave it a point. Man had to know it was wide.

I was at both them games and Derry should beat both, were 5/6pts up early on against Meath, let them get a run on them and then didnt use the wind in the 2nd half. Louth we missed alot as usual and Louth are always strong here, on a tight pitch. Derry need show some intensity in this game or it meant they went further back from last yrs form.

Armagh v Derry 2023 was brutal, didnt notice much at the game at the time, but trying watch it on TV after was horrible.

I think McCloskey needs come in to the halfback line. His trademark runs from deep he cant really do anymore as he normally one of the last 3. If Murray out, Kearney or C Higgins needs a chance in the corner. Be tempted to move McGuigan to the corner and start the Newbridge man at full forward.Again alot of all this personel changes should been tried in the league, but some men were injured.
