Cheers on TG4 - I'm into  series 3 now. I never really  watched it in the past , and I'm really enjoying it. Frasier has featured in quite a few episodes at this stage now.   A bit of an underwhelming character to date though , I have to say.

How  did he end up with his own spin off? And for  so long?

Maybe he gets funnier?

Shouldn't the  thread title be changed to:

"Eurovision: stick it up your hole"

or something similar?

What was the thinking behind the  2 point arc  stopping at the 21 yard line?

Cork scored a great sideline v Kerry ,  around 19/20 yards from the end line, but  the arc doesn't  extend that far. It stops at the 21, and therefore  it was only worth  1 point

Was a great kick. It was more than 50 yards   from goal, so should have been 2 points. It deserved  2 points

I think it was  Robinson, who said  recently Nationalism doesn't have the First minister position. That  it's an equal role  with the deputy FM .  It's funny, I never heard that spoke of   until MON became FM.

I wonder if the DUP  regained FM role , would they still be pushing for  the two roles to be  renamed "joint FM's"?

Not one of these  rats are deserting the ship in protest  of  Starmer's  continuing support of the  Israeli genocide in Gaza though.  It's all about their own  self preservation.

How those  lackies  sleep at night is  beyond me

I thought KBRT was a  drug of some sort

The full name of the  charity would  have been  helpful

Anyway, they have done  great work over the years.

Will the charity be continuing ?

Quote from: imtommygunn on May 10, 2026, 03:34:59 PMThe irony is a lot of this a protest vote because things are a bit shit. Brexit has done a lot to increase the shitness. Who is responsible for Brexit - the clown who leads the party they're voting for :o

Yes....but 10 years is a long time ago now, so the thicko little Englanders have totally forgotten that Farage promised them the land of milk & honey, if they would only vote for Brexit and they voted for his nonsense again last week, in their droves. Farage makes all the right noises & the braindead go out and vote the way that he & his Thai crypto backer want them to.

You could say  the  same  about  elections nearer to home.

Quote from: playwiththewind1st on May 09, 2026, 04:37:46 PMAlternatively, the neoliberal economic system is working absolutely fine & as was intended all along. The billionaires, oligarchs, cartels & corporations have hoovered up & bought up all of the politicians. The politicians then award them all of the government contracts that are going. Start the odd war or 2, to keep the military/industrial complex happy. Everyone who matters does exceptionally well out of the deal. The only people getting excluded are the ordinary punters.

Agree with all you said , but  that was all that was needed  really.  Depressingly, it's never  going to change.

The table is tilted, the  game is rigged.

Quote from: AustinPowers on May 08, 2026, 12:52:19 PMI understand the frustration of some , but £13 or £14 a game is  a lot less than what you'd pay to attend a match. It would take £100 minimum to bring the  average family to a match , and that's only the tickets and  fuel.

£14 wouldn't take the average Donegal  fan to Bundoran  in diesel never mind the whole cut to Killarney.

But the problem is previous free to air games are now behind a paywall and the GAA are joining sky in prosecution of dodgy boxes.

This seems to just be accepted.

Are there less free to air games than before?  And of course the GAA tries to stop dodgy boxes as it also would a crooked gateman taking cash to let people in.

I think so, but the issue is the quality of games at this time of year. The GAA are holding the better games behind a paywall and RTE are left with games that were never previously in consideration for TV.

I get that, but suddenly ppv is a core part of the GAA and they are happy to help jail people. It's a fairly significant and sudden culture change

What is, pay per view or  helping to  jail people?

I'd be annoyed if it was my own team behind a paywall , so  I'm not bothered this time

Would I tune in to watch Kerry Donegal if it was  on RTE? If  I was at home at the time , yes. But the highlights later will do  for me

If your team reaches the later stages , how many  matches are likely to be on GAA+ ? Two, maybe three? What's that... £25? £35?

You could spend  the £80/90 or whatever it is , for the season ticket.  I know I wouldn't get the value  of it as I wouldn't  be free to watch every game , nor would I want to.  A lot of the time , the highlights are enough

There are around 2000 British citizens serving the IDF. We need to document and track these genocidaires so they dont escape justice.

Any Irish in the IDF?
just  like Soldier F? And the rest...

QuoteWhen I explain too people over here we've a league competition that nobody really wants to win they all laugh and can't understand it as it doesn't make sense and their right!

Get rid of the league, find a way of creating some sort of advantage for winning a provincial title, split the championship into Senior/Intermediate/Junior and find a way of creating enough jeopardy. A 10 team Sam Maguire, 5 home games and 4 away games for a provincial winner. Top 2 into a semi final, 3-6 into the quarter finals and 9th & 10th are relegated. It would be great viewing and very few games that meant nothing.
Only  10 teams?  You'd be sick of looking at each other

There's something  very futile about these group stages/back doors, lose three games  but you're  still in it craic. Teams  like  Kerry and  Dublin  could have a couple of off days and   still win the All Ireland. Shadow boxing nonsense.

I remember after Down beat champion Derry in 94, thinking they could go on and win Sam, now a big hitter is out. And they did.

Current formats suit big teams with big squads , who can handle injuries/an off day.... and little chance for  teams even just below the top 2 or 3 - eg.  Monaghan Kildare Derry Louth etc of ever  realistically winning an All Ireland. Cut throat do or die knockout clashes  are really missed  these days.
