Quote from: Aristo 60 on April 28, 2026, 04:53:33 PMDidnt get sorted. Ive young kids that I can't split up or take to the Hill..

Hoping for another release during the week - or so I'm told.

Is there meant to be another release? The other option would be the terrace behind the goal might be less busy.

Yes, meant to be another release on TM but I dont know when...

Well that Ticketmastershit is some shit show. Couldn't get clicking the tickets quick enough before they disappeared.

And coming online at 2pm? That helps only the unemployed and tech savvy retired folk.

Quote from: PAULD123 on April 26, 2026, 11:07:56 AMLast hopeful shout out. If anyone knows where I could get a Terrace ticket could they let me know. I'm leaving at 12pm so we need to know whether to take the wee boy with us or not

Thanks

I had two for you on Friday - thought you were sorted!

Anyway, what a day for us. Hats off to all involved, that was a special performance. We got a wee bit of luck here and there but that paled compared to the massive effort these lads have put in!

I was surprised to see Mooney start but flip me that man still has plenty to offer! Guinness, Murdock, Doherty, Rooney and others all excellent. Everyone just seemed to click and mistakes were very few.

Those who have questioned Laverty's progress need to come back on here and give their thoughts tonight..

And those 1000's of stay away fans? Let's be having you all back the next day - these lads deserve a red and black roar in Clones.

Quote from: PAULD123 on April 20, 2026, 11:21:09 AMIf anyone hears of tickets available for the Donegal game could you please message me.  I know it's a long shot, but in my experience people often hold tickets till the last minute then release them just before the day.

I'm hoping to take my nephew.

Thanks

Did you get sorted out Paul D?

Same here. Will travel in hope. A bit like Clones 2024. We ran the eventual champions very close that day and I wouldnt want to miss the opportunity to see that sort of thing happen again.

Quote from: JPO on March 29, 2026, 10:45:24 PMWould you agree that Croke Park is a Gaa stronghold when the fans are there? Just watching the Sunday game and they said the crowd were booing during the Down match so yes it was that bad

Wexford fans were booing because Down wouldn't give them the ball. For better teams they call it game management. Worked the chance to win but wrong man and he missed.

Exactly, Conor O'Donnell's goal for Donegal was exactly the same scenario except that the right man was on the end of it - people feel they entitled to be on the edge of their seat for every match all of the time otherwise we should change the rules again.

The div 3 final had more riding on it than any other game all weekend (notwithstanding the fact that a shock provincial result could turn that on it's head), accordingly Down at least seemed as must concerned with losing as they were for going and winning the match.

Laverty mentioned after the match also how Down were mindful of Brooks' long ranging free taking ability and as such were very careful not to commit fouls in that area just outside the 2 point arc, unfortunately I think they overcompensated for it and had very little contact or even pressure on the man in those areas.

Down seem to be copping flack for striving for Sam Maguire football, supposedly we have notions, surely all counties want to improve and compete at the highest level possible, are we any further along the line? I'm not sure, but we have given ourselves the best opportunity to play SM football this year and we are back in Div 2 for 2027 - fck the begrudgers.

A hero reply from a hero member!

Congratulations to the team and management last night. A trophy is a trophy and of course the key to opening the door to the top table. Hard to put a finger on why this match was so different to the match in Wexford where there looked to be a bit of a gulf between the two teams. Maybe the difference was in Wexford's psychology - they almost overachieved so far this year - so the shackles were off?

Down have lost 13 of the last 14 finals theyve been in.

That said, on their upward curve if they are all available for the final you'd have to think they'd be more than fit to win it this year.
