No league this year. It was actually done away with when they moved the minor championship to be a group series.
One of the Mayo teams won the Ted Webb u16 last year.

Looks like between Mayo or Galway for this title again but I wouldn't rule out Sligo who played a few matches in the Ulster minor league in the spring drawing with Donegal in one game. Sligo for the second year in succession won the U16 Fr Manning Cup.

Leitrim are the weakest team. Roscommon are much like last year, on their day can pull off a shock win but unlikely to win this provincial title.

Have the panels being training for this or what? I had given up hope for this to be played.

Result Galway 2-17 Leitrim 0-12. Harsh scoreline on the effort Leitrim put in, Galway 1-8 Leitrim 0-10 it was on 43 minutes. Strong final quarter by Galway and strangely played their best football when down to 14 men.

Scoreline a bit harsh on Leitrim. They looked in a good position with 20 minutes to go with Galway down to 14. Galway inexplicably played far better with 14 than they did with 15 and outscored Leitrim 1-7 to 0-2 down the stretch.  They needed to raise it as they looked in a bit of bother once the red card came out.

Conall Gallagher was outstanding for Galway. Kicked 0-6 from play from midfield. And could even afford to miss the easiest chance he had.

6 day turn around will be tough. A lot of lads on both sides went down with cramp towards the end.

You'd wonder if there's any point in having this competition going ahead seeing as there'll be some sort of restrictions after Christmas.

Should have scheduled the provincial championships to finish this month. Little chance of games going ahead in January,  will be pushed back to late February early March i can imagine now.

Roscommon was about 12 points the better team in that match, Galway couldn't live the pace and energy of the young rossies.

Yeah well beaten. Surprised at the margin of the defeat rather than the defeat itself.
This particular group of Galway players haven't shown much at u14/15/16 over the past few years.
A steep learning curve for Alan Glynn in his first year in charge.
A very difficult year to manage them in fairness as it turned out.
