Main question to ask after that Man City defeat... Is Pep Guardiola a busted flush as a manager  ;)

Defences are much tighter these days.
Not many tight defences on show in the Barcelona v PSG and Monaco v Man City games.

QuoteHerrera deserved to be sent off for stupidity alone
.

Such nonsense. The 2nd yellow was not a yellow card offence the only stupidity was the ref mixing up Jones with Herrera. The Tyrone man above should know better than most what tactics Jose was using last night as it is the same type of tactics that Mickey Harte has been using for over a decade. E.g high pressure game and don't allow the key players on the opposition any time on the ball.

A weak ref ruined a very intriguing contest last night and going to be only one winner when Herrera was wrongly sent off.

More like Gallagher shouldn't have played a load of them in the League.

That was only half strength  doengal u21 team in Mckenna Cup. They had players playing with Sligo it. DCU, Dit, Ucd in O Byrne and Fbd.
It all adds up I suppose and little common sense used between the managers with U21 players.

Nasri is some idiot.

Would all those Donegal injuries suggest it wasn't wise to enter U21 team instead of a senior team into the McKenna cup?

Galway was my tip to win Connacht but I'm having my doubts now especially about their manager. Mayo v Kerry Tyrone v Dublin looks odds on to be the senior semi finals in August what odds on the same semi finals at U21 level in April.

The way Utd players surrounded the referee after he red was reminiscent of the Keane era.

Chalk and cheese Keane era wanted to frighten the ref. Last night I think they only surrounded the ref to tell him Jones didn't make that foul. A real oops on Olivers face when he realised it.

Herrera 2nd foul didn't deserve a 2nd yellow. The reaction of ref after giving it suggests he made a mistake probably thinking it was Jones that made the tackle?

On Pogba he can stand out against the lesser sides but is lost in games against top teams like Chelsea. His price tag has little to do with him it was so high because Ed Woodward doesn't know his arse from his elbow on the true value of players.

Ferguson I don't believe rated Pogba that highly because of his lack of workrate take Park Ji Sung for example a less talented player than Pogba however he worked himself to the ground for the team and could produce the goods in key games.

I wonder how long Monaghan can stay in D1. The team seems to have peaked and the older lads have been retiring.
As long as Malachy O'Rourke remains as manager.

Intriguing tactical contest. Pity the ref is so poor. Pogba having another dreadful game when his side need him most. Hard to see United causing an upset now with 10 men and without their two best or creative midfielders.

Tyrone and Monaghan have played Dublin in a recent league final and semi final and got within one point of them. The more Croke park games the better for any team IMO and one trimming shouldn't frighten you away from that venue.

At the moment Tyrone are favorites to play Dublin in the NFL final however they have a tougher run in than Mayo with Donegal in Ballybofey who are hard to beat there and Kerry away who could be close to full strength by round 7.

Cavan on the way to division 2 and Donegal in transition are two games Mayo should be winning in MacHale park. The decider for a place in the final could well be the Tyrone v Mayo game in Omagh and I don't see Rochford throwing in a pile of inexperienced or untested players into that game.

Cavan only scoring on average 10 points a game Mayo should win this game comfortably. A NFL final is still up for grabs I would expect Rochford and his players to aim for that.

Barcelona 6-1 winners on Wednesday night followed by a 2-1 defeat to Deportivo today who were 17th in the La Liga table. Football bloody hell.

Tyrone 0-8 Cavan 0-1 in the second half at moment. Looks like Cavan needed a much bigger lead than 4 points with that wind.
#4290
Did Cavan have much of a wind advantage first half?
