14 of the starting 15 for most of the year have all been Newtown, Conor Langan from Urney being the other (how Urney let that transfer go through I'll never understand).
McGovern the sole Dregish representative on the senior squad from what I can see.
Would Newtown be a mainly unionist town?
How many clubs in Tyrone is there from a unionist majority area? From the top of my head I can only think of kilyman. The likes of clogher, aghaloo, castlederg, newtownstewart and cookstown would be mixed areas but looking at the recent census unionists would be slightly in the minority.
Is Castlederg the name of the club?
I'd say west of the Bann there'd be a very aging unionist population.
I think Tyrone leagues should start a good bit earlier, then finish their league and a 2 week break before championships starts.
Would solve a few issues.
Quote from: tyroneStatto on May 17, 2026, 07:58:45 PMWhat is the plan for senior football now? 29th May? Would be latest start to a season ever. Madness.I can't understand the grief the county board gets about this, it is the county committee made up of all club delegates that decided no club ball until U20"s are over, certain clubs refuse to play without their U20's, the CB can't overrule the wishes of the clubs at county committee level. It is these clubs that need to be held accountable or else the full league set up needs changed, the county board put options to clubs about this but proposed changes got shot down. It looks like senior league won't start until 5th June
Think going forward from next year club senior football needs to start regardless of Tyrone U-20s. County Board needs to show leadership on this issue.

Your best bet is Lilys in Glenavy or the Fiddlers in Crumlin. Will be on the iPlayer to so alternatively the app on yout phone should work...
